Happy New Year, everyone! January is the time for new beginnings, so what better way to kick off the year than with some exciting FOOD news?! Back in October, Disney World celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The occasion called for a TON of new foods and treats, like the Sparkling Sunshine drink and The Mickey Mouse Dome Cake. But the fun doesn’t stop there!
Recently, Disney teased some new 50th Anniversary snacks on Instagram that we HAVE to talk about!
According to @disneyparks on Instagram, a sweet new dessert is coming soon to the Main Street Bakery in the Magic Kingdom! Guests will be able to dig into this NEW version of a fan-favorite Mickey-shaped treat, called the 50th Anniversary Cinnamon Roll on January 10th.Â
This isn’t the only new snack you can expect to find, though! Disney shared this mysterious post on Instagram, meaning there are at least EIGHT more 50th Anniversary treats coming soon! Any predictions, anyone? We have our money on a cupcake of some kind. Disney loves their cupcakes, after all.
Looks like the Disney fans voted for savory because we were just introduced to the Slue Foot Sue Fish Sandwich at Golden Oak Outpost in Magic Kingdom! This will also debut on January 10th!
There are still at least seven more treats or snacks to go! Fans voted between the Cheshire Café or Pinocchio Village Haus for the next snack…
…and they chose the Cheshire Café! The next new treat is the Always Tea Time Slush. This one will also debut on January 10th in Magic Kingdom. Cheshire Café already has a few tea-flavored slushes right now, and we’re not quite sold on the existing ones. But maybe this new one will be an improvement!
For the next snack in this 50th snack line-up, you can choose a dessert-themed emoji to decide the next snack reveal. Are you going to choose the cake or the orange?
And dessert won out! And y’all — look at this treat! It’s a Donald Duck Dome Cake — is this the cutest 50th Anniversary Treat yet? You’ll be able to pick it up at Gaston’s Tavern.
Only 5 more snacks to go! For the next reveal, Disney asked readers to choose between sweet and savory again.
And savory won with 54% of the votes! Disney revealed that the Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom will be getting a Croque Monsieur Flatbread! Pinocchio Village Haus already has a variety of flatbreads to choose from, so we’re excited to see how this new one will turn out.
There are only four more new 50th anniversary treats to be revealed! It’s down to pastry versus pineapple for the next vote.
The pineapple won big this time with 54% of the vote! It was revealed that the new treat is the Crooning Flowers Float at Aloha Isle. The name is a reference to the Enchanted Tiki Room’s singing flowers! This treat joins delicious floats like the Tropical Serenade.
With only three treats left, you can head over to the Disney Parks Instagram page to vote for either cookie or orange!
And ORANGE won the vote! Disney revealed the Orange and Almond Tart, which will be available at Pinocchio Village Haus — that makes TWO new 50th anniversary foods there!
We also learned that the Cheers to 50 Years Sundae at Plaza Restaurant is getting a bit of a makeover — it will have a new look and new flavors — we are INTRIGUED. It looks like they’re replacing the gigantic pretzel that was in there with some cookies, along with a few other changes.
And finally, the last of the nine new snacks was revealed to be the Chilling Chamber Push Pop, which is coming to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. Looks spookily delicious!
We’ll be sure to check these new treats out as SOON as they arrive in Disney World, and in the meantime, we’ll keep our eyes out for more food reveals. Be sure to stay tuned for all the latest Disney news!
