Disney World’s reopening has been a long process, with things slowly returning to normal over the course of the past two years.
We’ve seen dozens of restaurant reopenings, the return of many entertainment options, and some offerings that weren’t available when the parks first reopened are back now. Now, we’ve got an update on when one beloved perk may return!
Several months ago, parking lot trams returned to Magic Kingdom, with the promise that they’d soon return to all four parks in 2022. Since then, Disney hasn’t shared any details about when they might be back at the other three parks. However, today we spoke with a Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney’s Animal Kingdom who shared that trams would be back at that park on May 27th.
The Cast Member noted that no announcements had been made yet for EPCOT or Hollywood Studios trams. Keep in mind, this is just what we heard from one Cast Member and things are subject to change. Disney has not yet made an official announcement. We will be sure to keep an eye out for any updates on that.
We will say, over the past few months, many may have felt like Animal Kingdom’s LARGE parking lot has been the “worst” of the remaining three to navigate. A long walk back to your car at the end of a day in Animal Kingdom can be pretty exhausting, so we have a feeling that many will be excited to see those trams come back sooner rather than later!
Again, at this time, the Disney World website has not been updated with this new information. Keep in mind that this isn’t an official announcement from Disney, but we’ll update you if one is made in the next few weeks. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest news from Disney World!

What is the deal with the parking trams…. Is this strictly a cost cutting move by Disney or what…. Granted, it takes a lot of people to adequately staff the parking lots, when add several more for the tram operation and fuel, it the trams were the first attraction ride for many guests. With the prices they charge for daily parking you would think that the could afford the excursion to and from for guests. The pandemic is over, per se’, and the warm and hot weather is here. The end of day trek is brutal when it is hot and humid…. They just got finished with upgrading the fleet of pullers, let’s get them back in guest service. Recently I went to Epcot, got there at 6pm, free parking, but no trams.
Out of everything that has been cut. The Parking Lot Trams bothered me the most. I hate walking 2 miles before walking 10 miles to walk 2 miles back to my car. My feet hurt just thinking about so much walking.
