There are a ton of exciting new experiences coming to Disney World this year.

Between thrilling new attractions, hotel renovations, and tasty new restaurants — we’re looking forward to it all! Summer House on the Lake is a new table-service spot opening up in Disney Springs later this year, and we just learned some new details that may give Disney World’s top cookie spot a run for its money!

Summer House has two current locations: one in Chicago, Illinois, and one in North Bethesda, Maryland. We visited the restaurant in Chicago to get an idea of what will be offered at the upcoming Disney Springs location — and you can check that out here!

Disney has shared some more details about what we can expect from the Disney Springs location, though! The restaurant will serve Southern California-themed cuisine that will feature “simple, sustainable ingredients — from pizza and pasta to fresh salads and sandwiches,” along with some exclusive wines, beer, handcrafted cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks as well.

But, what we’re most excited about in this new announcement is The Cookie Jar — “a dessert-focused market within this space serving up freshly baked cookies and house-made pastries.” Yep, you read that correctly — there will be an entire cookie market at Summer House on the Lake.

In case you’re not familiar, there’s already a pretty darn popular cookie spot in Disney Springs — Gideon’s Bakehouse. This bakery has a cult following (it’s us, we’re in the cult) due to its delicious and huge half-pound cookies. Triple Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Chocolate Chip, and the Coffee Cake Cookie are just a few options to try.

One hefty cookie

We tried one of the cookies at the Summer House in Chicago, and while they aren’t quite as large as Gideon’s Bakehouse cookies, they are still easily sharable. We got a regular chocolate chip cookie and unfortunately, we have to say that this was not our favorite. The outsides of the cookie were almost too hard and crunchy and we wish that there were more chocolate chunks. However, we’re excited to see what the cookies at Summer House in Disney Springs are like!

While we don’t know the details about The Cookie Jar just yet — we’re excited to have even more cookies to eat in Disney World. For whether or not Summer House cookies will be able to compete with Gideon’s, you’ll just have to stay tuned to DFB to find out!
