You’ll find lots of food booths with delicious eats and drinks, merchandise you can’t wait to get your hands on, and concerts to catch. Menu
Over at Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina, you’ll find a variety of available food items — but they’re all returning. That doesn’t mean you won’t find something delicious here though, and there are some new drinks!
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, it’s time to try some food.

As soon as we got our order, our mouths were watering, y’all!
Eats
We started off with a festival favorite at this booth: the Grilled Chermoula Chicken or Moroccan-spiced Lamb Kebabs with carrot-chickpea salad and garlic aïoli for $5.75. In the past, we’ve preferred the chicken over the lamb, especially for those people who don’t want strong seasonings on their meat.
This time, our complaints didn’t have anything to do with the seasoning, but the texture. These were so chewy and fatty! If texture is a big deal to you, you won’t like these. We literally have nothing else to say here. They were chewy and fatty and it’s all we could focus on.
The Fried Falafel Pita with Tahini Sauce for $5.50 has been a delicious vegetarian option when we’ve had this before, though last year we did think it was heavy on the sauce.
Now this dish? This dish is one we can get down and boogie with. For a plant-based item, it’s packed with flavor — so delicious! The greens and veggies were crisp and had a great crunch to them.
The falafel was perfectly crispy and fell apart in our mouth. YUM!
Next, we tried the Stone-baked Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Chermoula, and Zhoug Dips for $5. Y’all, this bread is so light and fluffy — it doesn’t even NEED any dips. But, we tried them anyway, of course!
The hummus was eh… it was pretty salty and definitely wasn’t anything exceptional. The other two sauces were pretty oily. Nothing really stood out about these other than the fact that the Chermoula was a bit spicy. They were ok. Nothing special.
For dessert, we had the Pistachio Cake with Cinnamon Pastry Cream and Candied Walnuts for $4.79.  We’ve liked this cake at past festivals and it usually does not disappoint. Last year, it was extremely light and moist, and the cinnamon cream is the perfect complement to the cake. But this year…not so much.
This year, it was just… fine? The cake was fine, the candied walnuts added some crunch and were also fine, and the cinnamon pastry cream was fine, too. However, the pastry cream kind of tasted more like buttercream frosting. This dessert wasn’t bad by any means, but it tasted kind of boring and didn’t blow us away.
Well, now that we’ve tried some food, let’s wash it all down with some cider!
Drinks
A variety of ciders are returning this year, including the 3 Daughters Brewing Fig Hard Cider, which was a favorite of ours last year. The fig flavor wasn’t overwhelming and it was SUPER refreshing. This year, it was just as refreshing. We could’ve had it all in one gulp! The fig offered a very distinct taste — but it’s delicious.
The Keel Farms Raspberry Citrus Hard Cider is new, and it had a strong raspberry flavor for sure! It wasn’t overly sweet or bitter — it had a nice, balanced flavor. It was good!
Finally, you can grab the Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Peach Party Peach & Blackberry Hard Cider. We got all of these as a flight for $10.
This one was smooth but fizzy all at once, but it surprised us with a very sharp, sour aftertaste of peach. It was still good, though!
The Fig Cocktail with white cranberry juice and fig vodka is returning yet again this year. Last year, we thought it seemed a little sweeter than we’ve experienced at past festivals. If you don’t like cranberry or fig flavors, you’ll want to skip it. Try it for yourself for $11.
You can also grab the CORKCICLE Stemless Flute here for $32.
Overall
Well, we liked Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina much more in the past. This year, it seems that where there was flavor, the texture was off. Where the texture was nice, the flavor was off. Aside from the Falafel Pita and the Moroccan Bread, we didn’t enjoy the food here as much as we did in the past. The drinks were delicious, though, so this wouldn’t be a bad choice if you’re looking for a refreshing beverage. Give this booth a try for yourself and see if your thoughts were similar to ours!
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!

Shimmering Sips shows a $24 CORKCICLE flute but this one says it’s a $32 tumbler… do you have a comparison of the two?
