Happy Birthday, Disneyland!
Although Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration started earlier this year, today is the ACTUAL 70th birthday of Disneyland, which opened on July 17th, 1955. Now, a LOT of big things are happening today to celebrate, including the addition of a new verse to “it’s a small world” and the debut of a Walt Disney animatronic. If you’re visiting Disneyland today, though, you’ll also be able to get a special celebratory birthday pin and park map.
We tackled the crowds this morning at Disneyland, and when we entered the park, we were given a special 70th Anniversary button to mark the special occasion. The button features Dumbo flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle, lots of pixie dust, and the date: July 17th, 2025.
However, the park map we received today is also special. It features a retro design with Walt and Mickey in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Later today, there will be a special birthday cavalcade PLUS you’ll be able to catch the Paint The Night parade every evening during the celebration, which will last through next year.
But today is a little extra special because it was 70 years ago today that Disneyland opened its gates to visitors for the very first time. So please join us as we sing “Happy Birthday to you” to Disneyland all day long! If you do happen to get to Disneyland today, be sure to check out some special limited-time treats, including the 70th Celebration Mickey Cereal Treat, which is a Mickey-shaped cereal treat dipped in white chocolate, decorated with sprinkles and a blue-colored white chocolate 70…
…the Clubhouse Mickey Hat Caramel Apple, a Granny Smith apple with marshmallow ears dipped in black-colored dark chocolate and milk chocolate and adorned with a Clubhouse Mickey white chocolate medallion…
…and the Pink Mickey Balloon Marshmallow Pop, a Mickey-shaped marshmallow dipped in pink-colored white chocolate and decorated with black-colored dark chocolate and white chocolate accents.
