It’s about to be the BEST — and WORST — time to visit Disney World.
Does Disney World actually ever take a break? Apparently not! Fresh off the return of the super-popular Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, August in Disney World isn’t getting any quieter, as THREE huge events are still scheduled to take place, and will no doubt keep the parks PACKED.
August 28th and 29th are significant dates this year, as several points of interest are making their debut at Disney World all over the resort. These noteworthy events will also draw in BIG crowds during those days.
Kicking the festivities off will be the debut of the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! Running August 28th through November 22nd, 2025, the Original Disney Food Festival will feature incredible special events, informative culinary and beverage demonstrations, celebrity chefs, and tasty Marketplace Food Booths around the park.
A major draw, fans flock to EPCOT each year specifically for this festival.

The major events don’t slow down there, as the very next day marks the start of Destination D23: A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney!
The biggest Disney fan event of the year will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort from August 29th through August 31st, 2025, and — like the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival — will draw in fans from far and wide. This event is a HUGE fan convention hosted by D23 where Disney executives, celebrities, and fans come together in the ultimate celebration of all things Disney.
The convention will offer special events, exclusive merchandise, unique exhibits, and fascinating presentations.

Also taking place on August 29th is the grand opening of The Beak and Barrel — a NEW LOUNGE themed to the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and film franchise! Located in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, this “first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Our team is so excited to attend all of these incredible events, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest updates from each one! In the meantime, stay tuned right here at DFB for coverage on all things Disney World!
