Flying to our next adventure!
We aren’t putting it lightly when we say that this year has some of the most surprising changes with an airline we’ve ever seen. Changes that are considered controversial amongst passengers, and changes that will take a while to get used to. So, let’s take a look at what to expect!
The holiday travel season usually peaks right before Christmas, and there’s generally a little bit of a slowdown right after, but this year, things are different.
We previously reported that 122.4 million Americans will be traveling for the holiday season this year, so it’s no secret that airports are going to be crowded. Well, you might think that the days after the official holiday season would be a little slower, but according to CBS News, they are not. Plus, winter weather could make things even more chaotic.
Well, we’ve got some rough flying news for you — there’s really no other way to put it.
Lots has changed with flying this year — not only with going through security with TSA, but also at certain airports, and some airlines themselves have changed certain aspects of flying for their passengers. However, now there’s another change taking place, this time from American Airlines, and we can already tell it’s not going to be popular. Now, American Airlines passengers will not earn ANY miles or other rewards when they book a Basic Economy flight.
One of the nation’s biggest carriers is expanding its offerings! Get ready to fly because American Airlines is adding 16 new routes over the coming year.
Of the 16 routes, 9 of them will be offered year-round, while one will be offered seasonally, and the other 6 have defined end dates at the time of writing.
No one wants to be running late for their flight, but hey, it happens! As you’re sprinting to your gate, out of breath, panicked, and crossing your fingers that you’ll make it, American Airlines has started making things easier this year.
Lots of changes have hit flying this year, especially when it comes to making it through TSA security, but this change happened over the summer, and many people still don’t know about it. If you’re flying American Airlines and running late for your connecting flight, they’ll hold the plane for you for a few minutes…but also send you a countdown that might cause your stomach to drop.
Travel costs seem to be rising every year, so we’re looking out for ya by finding the best ways to save wherever you can!
With Southwest Airlines officially getting rid of its longstanding two free checked bags policy, prospective flyers are now faced with more limitations when it comes to saving on air travel. Fortunately, there are still ways to save — even when it comes to checked bags. For those that don’t know, credit card programs exist that actually let you waive checked baggage fees!
American Airlines is changing one of its longtime luggage rules, and it’s going to immediately affect how you fly!
I’ve been flying for over 30 years, and there have been many times when I’ve held my breath, hoping that my carry-on bag fits into the metal sizer at the gate and won’t need to be checked last minute. Can you relate? If so, fret not, as those days will soon be over for both of us… at least on American Airlines. Like fellow carrier United did several years ago, American is eliminating the sizers and moving to a new system.
According to NBC 4 Washington, the families of the victims from the tragic midair collision near Reagan National Airport are joining with lawmakers to introduce new legislation.
The collision in January 2025 between an American Airlines jet and a United States Army Black Hawk helicopter was the deadliest plane crash on United States soil since 2001. The families of the victims are now working to introduce new legislation to make air travel safer.
Air travel is getting more expensive for certain travelers…
