HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
And, no, this time I’m not talking about the release of the 2017 Candlelight Processional Dining Packages, or three ways you can ring in the New Year at the Contemporary Resort. Nope, I’m saying the Holiday Season is ON… in Disney Springs, that is!
Because July 15th through July 30th is Christmas in July in Disney Springs!
Yep, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Disney Springs Marketplace. You’ll find the Big Guy — Santa Claus!! — at Disney’s Days of Christmas (he’ll be dressed in summer wear, of course). He’ll be snapping pics with guests from 1:00 to 10:00 pm.
And visions of sugarplums will spring up throughout the area! At Goofy’s Candy Company and the Candy Cauldron (on the West Side), peppermint bark and gingerbread cookies will be among the featured holiday goodies.

Wow… we’re gearing up for a LOT of new experiences coming to Walt Disney World in the coming weeks. Next month, the new “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular will make its debut in Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom will unveil an entire new LAND with Pandora — The World of AVATAR!
But, as always, there is plenty taking place in the here and now in Disney World, too. So, let’s take a look around the parks and resorts to find out What’s New!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and yours!
As you’re searching through the closet for your favorite green garment to don today, you may want to know about some green and Irish-themed EATS you can search for should you find yourself in Orlando’s Disney Springs or Anaheim’s Downtown Disney District on March 17th! (And heads up: a few of these treats will stick around through the rest of the month!)
We’ve already shared some of the treats you will spot around the Disney World parks earlier this week, but now let’s take a look at the Leprechaun-snacks you’ll find in Disney World’s shopping, entertainment and dining district!
Even outside of the highly recommended Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival at Raglan Road (get all the details here!), there is still plenty of Irish-themed grub to go ‘round. And the one we’re most excited about is the Irish Stout Poutine covered in corned beef, braised cabbage, beer cheese and chives at The Daily Poutine!
We’ve already mentioned the seasonal ganache options at The Ganachery, which include Irish Cream, Stout, and Irish Whiskey. [Read more…]

There are several stops around both Disney World and Disneyland with bakery cases that are full-to-overflowing with eye-catching goodies. In Disney World, these spots include Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionery, Prairie Outpost and Supply, and Big Top Treats; Hollywood Studios’ Sweet Spells; and Downtown Disney’s Goofy’s Candy Company and the Candy Cauldron.
In Disneyland, they include Marceline’s Confectionery, Pooh Corner, Trolley Treats, and the Candy Palace.
A snack often found in these cases is the Marshmallow Wand. And we mention them on DFB fairly often because they change with the seasons.
Their decorative colors, sprinkles, and designs are one of the first things to signify some sort of celebration. We’ve seen them dressed up for the Winter Holidays…
… and Halloween!
They’ve been decorated with conversation hearts for Valentine’s Day.
And they take part in the Wearing O’ the Green on St. Patrick’s Day!
Recently, they even received a blue makeover to honor the Blu-Ray and DVD release of the Disney movie, “Frozen.”
(Though, we’re sorry, Marshmallow Wands, but this little guy sorta stole your thunder…)
All that said, you know something? We’ve never [Read more…]

Disney Food for Families columnist Erin Foster takes an in-depth look at the trendy Cake Pop infiltration of Walt Disney World.
The new addition to the world of Mickey-shaped sweet treats is the cake pop. In case you’ve missed out on this relatively new foodie trend, cake pops are small treats composed of cake and frosting mashed up to form a sort of cake paste, then formed into a ball or circle, and served on a stick.
The cake is almost always dipped into a chocolate or candy coating and often amusingly decorated. You can find do-it-yourself cake pop recipes here.
On a recent trip to Walt Disney World, I found cake pops sold at the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionery, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Sweet Spells, and at Downtown Disney’s Goofy’s Candy Company and Candy Cauldron.
The pops come in four possible cake flavors: chocolate, vanilla, marble, and red velvet. The candy coating is milk chocolate with either [Read more…]

The Candy Cauldron at Downtown Disney’s West Side is a popular stop for satisfying sweet cravings. Step inside the Wicked Queen’s/Old Hag’s Dungeon for tantalizing treats.
No worries – there are no poisoned apples! The only fruit here is covered in tempting chocolate and caramels! While perusing the candy selections, watch candy being made in the show kitchen!
But the real news is…Cake Pops are now being sold at the Candy Cauldron! Thanks to Becky Browne Allen for the great tips and photos!
Inside the pop, you’ll discover a real cake center — flavors are vanilla, chocolate, marble, or [Read more…]
