We were riding a Disney bus on Friday morning when we had the most magical experience!
There are a lot of things people will tell you that you “absolutely need” for a Disney World trip. Portable charger. Comfy shoes. A backup poncho because Florida weather has the emotional stability of a soap opera villain. But if we’re talking true essentials, the My Disney Experience app is way up near the top of the list.

At this point, the app is basically your digital trip sidekick, control center, and occasional chaos manager. It’s where you keep track of your plans, check wait times, place Mobile Orders, join select restaurant waitlists, manage Lightning Lane plans, unlock Disney Resort hotel features, and keep an eye on what the heck is happening around you in real time. In other words, this little app is doing a lot of heavy lifting while you’re busy chasing a snack or speed-walking to your next reservation.

Not only do they go out of their way to make sure we’re taken care of when something doesn’t go right in the parks or when we have questions about things, but they’re also there to make sure we stay safe on rides (and during other situations), and we see them create EXTRA magic in the parks all the time. It seems like we all agree on this, too, because the Cast Compliments feature in the Disney mobile apps has just reached a BIG milestone.
Your Disney World trip would not be possible without one group of people: Cast Members! Even Mickey Mouse himself can’t run the parks by himself — it takes a whole team of people to make magic. If you’ve ever experienced a special moment in Disney World thanks to a Cast Member, you can give them a special shout-out to recognize their work. The best part? It’s super simple!

Back in October of 2021, Disney debuted a new way to give a Cast Compliment through the My Disney Experience app. This made it much quicker and easier to leave a compliment, but the new system wasn’t perfect. Now, Disney updated the mobile Cast Compliment feature! Let’s take a look at the new process.
