This year, we’ve already had the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January and we’re looking forward to the 2023 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in November. It’s all about runDisney, specifically the 2023 virtual series. Earlier this year we shared with you the themes for the 2023 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, and now we’ve got news for you about the 2023 runDisney virtual events!
Every year Disney offers a whole host of races for runners looking to participate in some extra-magical events.
runDisney Finish Line
Through runDisney, already this year challengers were able to participate in two races so far: The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January and the Princess Half Marathon in February. Now, we have more information about another 2023 runDisney event!
Disney World hosts several road races every year, including 5Ks, 10Ks, half-marathons, and marathons. But even if you’re not planning to lace up your running shoes and join the race, your vacation could still be affected by these events.
2022 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend
The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is in full swing, which got us thinking about how Disney World looks different during these runDisney races. The 2022 Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World is just days away, and with the races comes commemorative race merchandise to remember those magical miles! Read on to see what you can expect to find at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo next weekend.

Merchandise for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon, Kids’ Races, 5k, 10k, and Two Course Challenge will be available at the Expo held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Disney-loving runners are already lacing up their shoes to get ready for the 2023 Marathon Weekend! But if you’ve been hoping to reserve your spot to take part in these races, we have some disappointing news for you.

The marathon weekend opened reservations this morning and immediately began experiencing some technical issues. Runners were put in a waiting room or couldn’t access the site at all due to technical problems. Finally, reservations opened around 12:30PM ET and some runners were able to secure their spots. However, many of the races sold out FAST.
UPDATE: Disney has since emailed runners stating that the medals have arrived in time for the weekend.
People who love running AND Disney World probably already know all about runDisney races. These events take place inside Disney World (unless you sign up for the virtual races, of course), so runners get to race past iconic Disney landmarks like the Cinderella Castle and Tower of Terror.

This year, there’s a brand NEW race series called the Springtime Surprise Weekend. It’s scheduled to take place this coming weekend, with a different race on each day of the event. But we just heard that there’s a possibility that a MAJOR part of the race will be MISSING! [Read more…]
