Okay, so a LOT is happening in Magic Kingdom right now. Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island have permanently closed as Disney begins construction on a Cars-themed expansion in Frontierland. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a huge upgrade. A new villains land is set to go behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

A Tomorrowland ride is also set for a huge upgrade. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closes tomorrow, August 4th, so we decided to visit the ride this morning to see what its last day is like…and let’s just say, it was kinda surprising.

It’s Official! The Magic Kingdom Park Map Has CHANGED

Well, it’s officially the end of an era at Magic Kingdom. Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are both now closed to park visitors.

It’s been a long journey, but it seems like Disney has been quick to update the My Disney Experience app and beyond — because new maps have popped up in the park and on the app overnight.

Some BIG things are about to happen in Magic Kingdom.

In Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be closing soon for a big update. In Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is undergoing a MASSIVE upgrade. A Villains land is being built BEHIND Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Meanwhile, Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat are set to close forever as of tomorrow, July 7th, — and we’re here on the last day before this part of Magic Kingdom changes forever.

Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Swarming a Walk-On Attraction in Hollywood Studios

Well, it’s the end of an era, and we’re kinda sad about it.

Muppet Vision 3D

We knew this day was coming, but now that it’s here, it’s even sadder. So today is the day is the last day of Muppet*Vision 3D because the entirety of Muppets Courtyard will be closing tomorrow (June 8th) so that a new Monsters, Inc. land can be constructed in its space. So we’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios LIVE, paying our respects to this classic attraction, saying goodbye, and seeing how everyone else is doing the same.

A classic Disneyland attraction, Splash Mountain, is set to permanently close so Disney Imagineers can reimagine it as a NEW attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, based on The Princess and the Frog. Its Splash Mountain counterpart in Disney World closed in January 2023 and construction is already underway for the new attraction. But what does the last day of Splash Mountain in Disneyland look like? Let’s take a look!

We’ve already seen quite a few crowds in Disney World this weekend headed to ride the attraction one last time before it closes to be reimagined as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Arrival and Departure days at Disney

can be a lot more tiring than you imagine. For many of us, these are half-days that require creative planning.

Annual passholders can easily hop into a park for a half-day, but if you hold a regular Magic Your Way ticket, you probably want to reserve it for a full days of Disney touring!

We recommend using these half-days to explore the wonderful dining opportunities outside the theme parks.

  • Disney Springs has some dynamite new restaurants and the chance to stock up on a few souvenirs in stores like World of Disney.
  • Visiting the Boardwalk resort is a fun adventure with dining available on the waterfront or at nearby resorts (Yacht and Beach Club; Swan and Dolphin).
