Flying to Disney World soon?
We keep you posted on anything that may affect your trip, from transportation to your Disney World hotel to airport news. And if you’re flying on Southwest Airlines, there’s an update you’ll want to know about.
Heading to Disney World through Orlando International Airport this summer? We’ve got an important update on what to expect.
Orlando International Airport has announced a number of upcoming changes lately including food delivery options, restaurant additions, and a new Disney store. And while these changes probably won’t debut in time for summer travelers, we do have an update on what you can expect when it comes to a major aspect of your airport experience — crowds.
Have you been thinking about taking a long-delayed vacation this summer? You aren’t alone. Demand for summer travel, specifically for Disney World, is on the rise as more people become fully vaccinated.
High demand will have an impact on both the cost of your trip and the experience you’ll have with crowds once you arrive at Disney World. Here’s how you can prepare for both of those scenarios!
Who’s ready for more Chicken Guy!?
One of our go-to choices for an affordable and delicious meal in Disney Springs is Chicken Guy!, the quick service restaurant headed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri. And for all you other Chicken Guy! fans out there, we have some good news.
As the country continues to reopen, travel is on the rise.
Theme parks like Disney World are increasing capacity as demand soars to pre-pandemic levels. And as a result, we’re already expecting BIG summer crowds. But if you’re planning a trip in the next few months, you’ll want to be aware that you may find that travel is actually more expensive now than it was last year. Here’s why.
Good news for those traveling to or from Europe!
While international travel is slow right now, we are seeing signs of progress as Disneyland Paris plans to reopen and guidelines are updated for fully vaccinated individuals. And now, there will be another option for those hoping to fly from Amsterdam to Orlando.
An exciting new service will be making its way to Orlando International Airport!
There are some exciting additions heading to Orlando International Airport. Of course, there’s the new Brightline train to Disney World that’s currently in the works. And we also recently learned that one of our FAVORITE Disney World restaurants will receive a location inside the airport soon! Speaking of awesome airport dining news, there’s another new option headed to Orlando International Airport in the future.
We’ve been closely following the progress on the Brightline train in Florida!
The train will directly transport guests from the Orlando International Airport to a stop in Disney Springs, which will be super helpful when the Magical Express service is discontinued in January 2022. While the train’s Disney Springs stop was originally due to open in 2023, it has been delayed to 2026. But now, construction has reached a BIG milestone!

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, policy changes continue to be made.
Recently, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order suspending all local COVID-19 restrictions. In practice, this affects enforceability of local COID-19 regulations, like the Orange County mask mandate. Disney World has already responded to that order, and now, the Orlando International Airport has done the same.
We are super fans of several of the restaurants at Disney Springs, including Homecomin’ by Chef Art Smith, The Polite Pig, and Wine Bar George.

Orlando International Airport
So, we already told you about plans to add a Wine Bar George location to Orlando International Airport. But those other two? Well, the people behind those restaurants are also opening locations in the airport!
