Disney World Resorts can transport you to a whole new world, and the Polynesian Resort is the perfect example of this! Nestled on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon lies a tropical paradise within Disney World. This resort is one of the three resorts located on the Resort Monorail Line, making it an accessible resort to stop at on your way to or from the Magic Kingdom.
We’ve got some FUN Disney World hotel news to share today! Have you heard? Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been under construction for quite some time, and this hotel is getting a BIG addition. Later this year, the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open, and Disney just gave us a sneak peek of what’s coming to this resort!

This new section of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is set to open on December 17th, 2024! It will be a Disney Vacation Club property, but anyone is invited to book a reservation here! The 10-story tower will feature rooms of different sizes for parties of all shapes and sizes. Just like The Polynesian Village Resort itself, this new tower will take inspiration from the Polynesian Islands. You may even spot some new artwork inspired by Moana!

Later this year, the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open, and while Disney has shared updates here and there, we’ve been keeping an eye out for more news about this new spot. We’ve seen a sneak peek at the rooms and had a few details about a new dining location, but now we officially know more!

It’s always important to wear a comfortable pair that has already been worn in, but if you’re looking for a new pair to break in before your next Disney World trip we think we know just the one! While there are lots of changes happening inside Disney World’s theme parks with Test Track’s retheming, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening, and so much more, there’s even MORE happening outside the park gates.

Fort Wilderness has been getting new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) cabins, and in December 2024, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will open their new DVC tower, built on the ground that housed Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the resort for decades. We asked our readers on Facebook if they’re planning on staying in the new tower, Island Tower, and we got a pretty strong response!
