So, are the 2019 Disney Dining Plans different from the current Disney Dining Plans?
Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen some changes to the Disney Dining Plan.
In 2017, Snack Credit entitlements increased from 1 Snack Credit per night of a package stay to 2 snack credits for the Quick Service and Standard Dining Plans (the Deluxe Dining Plan remained at two Snack Credits). In exchange, the dessert was removed from the full Quick Service meal entitlement.
An even more significant change occurred for the current 2018 Disney Dining Plans, when alcoholic beverages were included for of-age guests to both Quick Service and Table Service meal entitlements. Specialty drinks were also added for guests who are not of-age or choose not to imbibe.
For 2019, all of the additions from the past two years remain with no significant changes (though, as per usual, there are pricing adjustments, which can be found on the individual Plan pages as linked above).
Current restaurants participating in the Disney Dining Plan can be found here.

Paul C says
Wholly overpriced batman.
Unless you eat THE most expensive item at THE most expensive restaurants, there is no way on earth this is a deal.
We spend about $45 per day per person on meals on our trips. Some days we eat two quick service meals, sometimes we order several appetizers and share.
far too regimented and far too pricey for us.
Mike V says
We just stick with the quick service plan now and it’s well worth it when traveling during the F & W or the F & G festivals.
We’ve found that the standard plan just is not worth it and takes too much time away. Not to mention you have to add $20-40 or more to each meal since gratuity isn’t included.
Tillymae says
Every time we have gone to Disney we have gotten the standard dining plan. It may not be cost effective for some but it made our vacation so much easier!!! We planned our dinner to be in the park we were going to and we did typically make sure we had the pricier selections. All the snacks were either used or on our last day we would use them and pack them in our carry on to have for the plane ride home. I personally love it! We have eaten at places we would never have gone to without the plan.
Jamie says
Does anyone know when you can start booking vacation packages for Christmas 2019??
Liz says
@Jamie, my travel agent told me you can only book out 499 days, so around early August 🙂 I’m counting the days!
Susan says
I’d like to know when the DFB Food Guide for 2019 will come out? We’re booked for a July/August trip in 2019 and I want to have up to date information. I have the 2015 and 2016 version, but obviously those are outdated with restaurants that no longer exist, don’t contain info on newer restaurants, and the dining plan has changed since our last trip. When should I start looking for the 2019 version?
DFB Sarah says
Susan, we try to get the DFB Guide out as soon as we can. In 2018, we released it in early-January.
Rey G says
I noticed on the restaurants included for 2019 are missing many table meals for Epcot, are there any changes they’ll be added? originally booked, Chefs de France, Marrakesh and teppan Edo, but unfortunately had to cancel as they’re no longer on the plan. Thank you.
DFB Sarah says
Rey G., all three of the restaurants you referenced do accept the Disney Dining Plan.
Rey G says
Hi DFB Sarah,
Not sure if I can link this here: but found the 2019 pdf online.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2019-disney-dining-plans-participating-locations.pdf
Also when booking for 2019 online it does not show dining plans are accepted for that year at Chefs de France, Marrakesh and teppan Edo.
Hopefully things change.
DFB Sarah says
Rey G., the restaurants are noted as DDP-approved on DisneyWorld.com, but let me look into this a little more. 🙂
Mke G says
Question, I may not understand the terms used so forgive me but does anyone know when the 2019 list of participating locations will be added? Mainly places like Rainforest Cafe and Boathouse…? On the website it only shows 2018. Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Mike, we’ll update the list when Disney finalizes their list — usually toward the end of the year/early next year! If you sign up for the DFB Newsletter, you’ll be one of the first to know when we update the page!
Yvonne says
When do they post the free dining plan 2019 dates?
AJ says
Yvonne — the past two years they have announced in late April.
Margaret Beyer says
The dining plan is worth it simply for the character meals. We have never used a fat pass or waited in line to see Mickey Winnie the Pooh or a Princess. The buffets have something for everyone and are extremely filling. Its also nice to plan a nice steak or seafood dinner at a park or resort. We also love using our extra snack credits for rice crispie treats, or bagged candy at Goofy’s candy shop.
Tricia says
You have to do the math for your group. We always do the standard plan except for visits to F&W. It always saves us money but our tastes run to those things that are usually the most expensive on the menu and we like to have a nice table service meal each day. It definitely depends on how you eat and what your budget is like. It is no longer the across the board deal that it was many years ago. I have discouraged several friends from adding it as I know they would not receive value from it. But for us it continues to make sense.
Margaret Beyer says
Oh my gosh Teppan Edo is not on the dining plan??? That was going to be my “new experience” this trip. Hoping there was a mistake ????
Susan says
According to the list that Rey G posted, there isn’t a single TS restaurant from Disney Springs that accepts the dining plan in 2019. Can that be correct? I’ll have to completely redo my ADR planning. Teppan Edo, Homecomin’, T-rex…I can’t find any of those on the list. And we’re staying at Caribbean Beach resort, and also missing are any TS restaurants from CBR on the list.
I also don’t see Polite Pig on the QS list. Nor are the QS locations for China, Japan, France, Morocco, Mexico….If all these places are removed, the dining plan isn’t a very good value. I hope this isn’t a finalized list!!
Ella says
I also found a list online, but it’s not from the official WDW website. This list does include Teppan edo.
https://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan-restaurants.htm
DFB Sarah says
Susan, typically Disney needs to renew contracts with restaurants before they’re put on an official list, so we would expect to see these restaurants continue on DDP. Stay tuned!
Kathy says
please forgive this question if it has been answered already butt is the Disney dining plan exclusively offered or available to those guests who are staying any Disney property only ? Although I live in Orlando and am an annual pass holder I do occasionally stay at a Hilton resort on Hotel Plaza Boulevard which has recently been added two part of the extra magic hours hotels. Is the Disney dining plan available if I stay at one of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Boulevard and is the dining Disney plan offered to annual pass holders or anyone not staying at any official Disney resorts ?
DFB Sarah says
Kathy, Annual Passholders can purchase the Disney Dining Plan only if they have a room-only reservation on Disney property.
Laura says
Susan, We reserved Teppan Edo and Via Napoli (Japan and Italy) only to find out those weren’t accepting Dining plans (according to my confirmation). I called Disney and they sent me a link to the ones that were currently accepting Dining Plans in 2019 and as of right now only THREE table service restaurants from Epcot World Showcase is on the Dining Plan list. I have gone in the early spring the past two years and will be doing so this spring as well….we never had an issue with having to wait until the end of the year to see which restaurants would be on the list – I’ve always been able to book well in advance.
Michwel says
The Disney rep I spoke with said that they haven’t finalized the list and we should be fine for all the Disney springs locations we booked. We will see!
Susan says
Thank you, Laura. I guess we will have to rethink our ADRs. I really think they are shooting themselves in the foot with this one.
Laura says
I agree, Susan! l will give it a little more time but we will end up cancelling those reservations, which is disappointing because there are so many great places in the World Showcase to eat.. Animal Kingdom’s table service restaurants are also quite scarce on the dining plan list. Thing is, if you don’t reserve at least three-5 months in advance you don’t get a reservation so for those of us going there in February or March, waiting until the end of the year to see if any more restaurants are added is risky. If I see any updates I will certainly let you know!
DFB Sarah says
Michael, that’s usually how it works. We’re watching!
Laura says
Keeping my fingers crossed that those great restaurants will be added to the list 🙂
Rey G says
2019 restaurants have been updated, just booked some at Epcot!
Laura says
Hi Ray, would you by chance have a link to the updated list? Any information I am finding is still saying there are only three table service restaurants in Epcot that take any dining plans. Thank you!
Rey G says
Laura – didn’t find a new list online, but was checking daily for updates on the restaurants I wanted to book, Teppan Edo and Marrakesh were 2 of them. Another that just got listed was Yak & Yeti, for the most part just check on the disney site and click on the “some dining plans are accepted link” and it now shows 2019 options.
Hope this helps.
Laura says
YYYEEEEESSSSSS!! Thank you for posting that, Ray!! I just checked…yay!!!!
DFB Sarah says
Rey G., thanks for sharing!
leanne says
Gaston’s tavern was on for last year, but not this year. Do you think it will be added?
DFB Sarah says
Leanne, yes, kiosks and small counter service spots like Gaston’s continue to be eligible for Disney Dining Plan — but those kiosks typically are not noted as such online.
Cam H. says
We get the Deluxe plan everytime we go and it is worth every penny for us. There is a peace of mind when going into any restaurant and not having to worry about prices. Plus I do enjoy a bourbon on the rocks with my seafood or steak so that makes the cost totally justified.
Bailey says
We are on the standard dining plan. Are the quick service credits separated into kids quick service and adults quick service or are they all pooled together? I know they want kids on the dining plan to order off the kids menu, but could they order an adult meal if they wanted? I know the table service credits are separated as kids and adults just wasn’t sure about quick service. My travel agent says the quick service is separated but I’ve seen conflicting info. Thank you!
DFB Sarah says
Bailey, in our experience, quick service credits are pooled. That’s not to say that Disney World won’t change the policy, but we haven’t had to specify.
Kristy Howell says
We all know that alcohol costs more that soft drinks or tea, but it seems that the cost is the same. Is there not a discount for those that do not drink?
DFB Sarah says
Kristy, that is correct. Those on DDP who don’t/can’t drink alcohol can select a “specialty beverage” when they’re available. Drinks like milkshakes, smoothies, specialty coffee are typically included. But you’re also correct that the value is not as high for those eschewing alcohol.
Aimee says
I know a lot of people are shocked by the cost of the dining plan, but we like and use it for 3 reason:
1. We LOVE character dining and probably would not do as much character dining as we do if we were paying out of pocket during the vacation.
2. I like to know that we have already paid for our meals before we even set foot on property. It is just one less thing to keep track of in the vacation budget.
3. We have fun searching out AJs “Best Value Snack Credits” and if my kids asked to spend almost $6 on a cupcake or almost $9 on that funnel cake in HS I might have a heart attack…but a dining plan snack credit? No problem! Let’s order two!
I have done the math and with alcoholic drinks included now and the number of credits we use on pricey character meals it is worth it for our family. I have even compared the cost of staying in a villa and doing our own food, but in the end I always come back to the same thing: It’s my vacation too and I don’t want to cook or wash dishes. Dining plan it is! Every time.
Pam says
We are going with a group of people that are on the dining plan, we just found out everything is grouped together, does anyone know if that can be changed to individuals?
DFB Sarah says
Pam, you’ll want to call Disney to check!
