Have you noticed that you’re getting distracted a little more easily these days? It seems like the days are all starting to blur together! Luckily Disney has gone above and beyond in making sure there’s plenty of new and exciting things to do at home!
We’ve come up with a list of fun activities to fill your hours (and days) with if you’re a bored Disney World (or maybe just one that needs a little distraction!)!
Go Backstage At the Theme Parks
There’s a ton of fascinating content out there that peels the curtain back and gives us an in-depth look at what it takes to build and operate the Disney theme parks.
The Imagineering Story
The Imagineering Story has been a favorite of ours since it premiered with the launch of Disney+. The series follows the evolution of the Disney Parks from the humble beginnings of Disneyland all the way to the international parks we have today.
After watching the series, you may find yourself wondering what it takes to actually BECOME an Imagineer (we know we did!).
Imagineering in a Box
Lucky for you, Disney released Imagineering in a Box! This is a free online curriculum that covers the many skills required to become an Imagineer. From mathematics to engineering to storytelling, this is a fun course for the whole family!
Filled with interactive exercises, you’re sure to gain a deeper appreciation for the work that goes into making Disney World a reality!
Build a Roller Coaster Launch
For extra credit, you can put your new-found Imagineering skills to the test by building your own roller coaster launch at home! Disney released a fun online lesson using Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to explore the process of actually creating a roller coaster launch using Matchbox cars and magnets!
The science behind Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s intense launch is surprisingly simple when recreated in your own home!
My Disney Experience “Play From Home”
Think you already know all that there is to know about the Disney parks? Put your knowledge to the test with “Play From Home” via My Disney Experience and the Play Disney Parks apps. Answer fun questions about the history of the parks and some of the films that were inspired by Disney attractions!
There are even more fun surprises hiding in the My Disney Experience app so check it out if you’re missing the parks like we are!
Bring the Disney Magic to Your Home
Who says we have to be IN Disney World to experience the magic of the parks?
Recreate Attractions in Your Home!
There are tons of fun and unique ways of turning your home into the ultimate dream Disney destination! We’ve seen countless examples of fans using their creativity to re-create some of their favorite attractions in their living rooms!
From DIY firework shows to backyard Splash Mountains, we’re LOVING the creativity coming out of Disney fans right now!
Dapper Day at Home
Did you know Dapper Day is just around the corner? Well…it would have been if Disneyland was still open. Why not celebrate at home!? Dress to the nines! Connect with some of your “dapper” friends via Zoom (and add some fun Disney themed backgrounds while you’re at it!).
On April 19th, dress up in your dapper best, snap a pic, and tag #dapperdayathome on Instagram for a chance to have your look shared by the official Dapper Day Instagram account.
Check Out Some Awesome Online Parks Content
If you want more immediate access to the parks, Disney has recently released a lot of great online content.
Disneyland Paris will be sharing parades and shows from their park on their Facebook page!
You can go to the Disneyland Paris Facebook page and vote for your favorite entertainment and the winners will be streamed for everyone to enjoy on Facebook!
The Disneyland Resort is also sharing some fun content by streaming Magic Happens!
You can now watch the newest daytime parade as much as you like from home (which we may or may not have had on loop over the past week.)!
Listen to Some Disney Parks Music
Want some magical background noise while you work from home? There’s a shockingly high amount of Disney Parks music online you can stream (as well as tons of music from your favorite Disney films, of course).
Learn a New Skill…With Disney!
While now is a perfect time for relaxing and spending quality time with family, it’s also a good opportunity to pick up that new skill you’ve been meaning to try! Why not give it a shot, and let Disney help you along the way?
Master Your Disney Cooking Skills
Even if you’re not a master baker or chef, we promise some are SUPER simple to do at home!
Learn to Draw Disney Characters
If you have any budding artists in your home, why not learn how to draw by sketching some Disney characters?
Not only can you learn how to draw Mickey Mouse, but there are many other characters that you can learn to draw with online tutorials!
Catch Up On All Those Disney Movies You Haven’t Watched in a While (Or Watch Ones You’ve Never Seen!)
Disney+ has more Disney content than…well…anywhere! You’ll never run out of movie nights with the family if you want to work your way through ALL the movies on Disney’s streaming service! Why not use this opportunity to watch a classic Disney film you haven’t seen since you were a kid?
Have you checked out the newest Pixar film Onward yet? It’s on Disney+ now, too! Pop some popcorn and eat it out of your favorite Disney World souvenir bucket for extra Disney feels!
Or better yet, watch a movie you’ve NEVER seen! You may just find a new favorite (we recommend checking out Atlantis and Treasure Planet!).
Shop Til You Drop!
With the parks closed, Disney is also selling exclusive pins online as well!
All you pin enthusiasts out there can now add to your collection without having to leave your couch!
Prepare For Your NEXT Disney Trip!
Planning your next trip to Disney World is perhaps just as much fun as the trip itself! Why not use this time to dream up your next vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth?

Watch Movies to Prepare You For Your Next Disney Trip!
With Avengers Campus slated to open at Disneyland this summer (we hope it doesn’t get too delayed!), why not use this time to re-watch all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films (for an extra challenge, watch them all in the correct order!).
There are a few films, including Infinity War, Ant Man and the Wasp, both Spider-Man films, and The Incredible Hulk, that you’ll have to find off of Disney+ at the moment, BUT with so much content to get you pumped for the new land, this should keep you busy for a while!
There’s still plenty to look forward to at Disney World if you’re a Marvel fan! You can rewatch the Guardians of the Galaxy films in preparation for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coming soon to Epcot!
Missing Tower of Terror? Why not marathon your way through the original Twilight Zone series? You can watch a ton of old episodes on Netflix, and next time you visit Hollywood Studios, you might be able to spot a bunch of Easter Eggs!
We hope that this list has given you some fun ideas on how to pass the time! Being stuck at home can get mundane but with so many options from Disney it certainly makes it easier to enjoy your days. We’ll keep you posted as new resources are released!
