While some Disney attractions have withstood the test of time, not all rides stick around forever.
Earlier this year, 3 Disney attractions were reportedly set to close permanently and Primeval Whirl at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was one of the rides on that list. We later saw the attraction vehicles themselves removed from the ride. Today these vehicles were out and about in Disney World again…on a trailer that appeared to be heading out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 😢
A huge thanks to our reader Julie Raad-Peay who spotted these ride vehicles, took some fantastic photos, and was kind enough to share them with us! Julie says she spotted the vehicles on Osceola Parkway, appearing to leave Animal Kingdom.
You can see the colorful and round ride vehicles stacked up on this trailer. We’re not exactly sure where these attraction vehicles are headed, but it seems that since Primeval Whirl has gone “extinct,” they are now being moved elsewhere.
Prior to the announcement regarding its reported closure, Primeval Whirl had been operating as a seasonal attraction for quite some time. We’re not sure what, if anything, will take the place of this attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom but we’ll definitely be on the lookout for any news about the future of this spot. For now, it looks like it’s time to say goodbye to these vehicles — thanks for all the spins, whirls, and twirls you colorful bunch!

I am not to sad to see this ride go. My daughter and I were stuck on this ride for over an hour and half. They got everyone else off, but had to go get maintenance people to move our cart, spin it around and get us off.

So sad to see this one go! I’ll never forget the first time my son and I rode it- we didn’t know what to expect. What a jerky ride! We laughed so hard the entire time from being surprised. Fond memories!

I know many people did not like the theming. I for one, enjoyed this ride/attraction. It always reminded me of the Game Mousetrap.

Glad to see it go. It did not fit in with the Animal Kingdom image. A carnival ride gooped up with bolt on posters. I never saw long lines for this ride… and it is a ride, not an attraction. It is odd to see this on the public roadway during the daylight hours. Disney does not usually advertise their flops. They usually move this stuff behind the scenes to back stage storage under cover of darkness. Bad Show once again. Who is running this place.

This was my son’s favorite ride! I hate to see it go. If anyone figures out where it went to, could they please tell DISNEYfoodblog.com so I could read it there. If possible, we would love to ride it wherever it lands. I don’t think the Nemo musical show goes with the theme of animal kingdom’s Dinoland either, but I sure loved it! Hopefully it won’t take them 5 years to put something in its place.
