It’s not unusual for rides to get refurbished in Disney World.Â
With 50 years of wear and tear on some of the longer-running attractions, it makes sense that they would need a touch-up every once in a while. Disney World’s water rides tend to need those refurbs more frequently than others, and one of them just reopened after a long one!
Today, Kali River Rapids reopened in Animal Kingdom after being closed for several weeks. It’s back up and operational as usual, so we hopped in line!
Kali River Rapids is a ride that takes you whitewater rafting on the Chakranadi River, courtesy of Kali Rapids Expeditions.
The line wasn’t long with the wait time as of this writing at around 10 minutes. But yes, even in Florida’s “winter weather,” people still want to ride what is probably the wettest of rides at Disney World!
There are several signs throughout the queue reminding guests that they must wear shoes.
And like many Disney World attractions, the line is just as interesting as the ride itself — there are loads of Imagineering details to take in.
We watched as other rafts took off for the rapids.
And then we got on a raft, too! And it is still definitely a WILD and VERY wet ride!
We’ll make sure to keep you updated on all the refurbishments in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB!
