Everywhere you look in Disney World, things are changing.
Magic Kingdom is getting a new thrill ride, and EPCOT is undergoing a massive transformation that Disney hopes will revitalize the park. But with so many changes, there is a LOT to keep up with — so let’s take a look at the biggest Disney World construction updates you might have missed this week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
We spotted some exciting ride vehicle testing over at TRON: Lightcycle Run this week! As the construction progresses, we’ve started to see more and more instances of the vehicles being tested throughout the track.
And over on the ground, things are starting to take shape. Lights have been added to the ramp railing, landscaping has been installed in some areas, and it looks like additional light posts have gone up in several spots as well.
Disney shared that TRON is scheduled to open sometime in Spring 2023, but we’ll let you know if we get any official dates any time soon — stay tuned!

EPCOT
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza
What looks like large steps or stairs have been installed at CommuniCore Plaza in the middle of EPCOT. Disney is working on turning this area into the hub for all things EPCOT festivals. They’ve even started construction on the CommuniCore Hall that will host special festival events and more.
We’re eager to see what CommuniCore Hall and Plaza look like when they’re finally completed, but for now we’ll have to settle for peeks over the fence on the monorail.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
A GIANT update has come to Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. The massive Te Fiti figure has been installed! We tried to get a peek at her over the construction fence…
…and then got a better look from the monorail. You can see just how large this addition really is from this angle.
More light posts (we think) have been installed throughout this attraction as well, and we’re really starting to see what it could look like when it all comes together.

Animal Kingdom
Dinosaur
Our pal Aladar has been hiding behind these pesky Disney construction shrubs for a while now.
We’re not sure what’s going on with this area or how long it might stay like this, but you can still enjoy (or be terrified on) Dinosaur in the meantime!
Hollywood Studios
Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
A small but mighty update has come to Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Hollywood Studios! Toothpick flags with crayon stars have been installed at the top of the restaurant building! Whether this is an indication the restaurant will open on schedule by the end of this year is another story, though.
