Disney Adults everywhere rejoiced when the final wall came down after the EPCOT Transformation. Seriously, it basically felt like being at the Brandenburg Gate circa 1987.

But, now that the transformation is finally complete, it seems like fans aren’t really satisfied with the outcome — and it’s kinda hard to blame them. The concept art for the changes at EPCOT were full of wonder, color, and creativity, but the reality feels like little more than a mall or a college campus trying to be hip — at least according to these ticked off Disney Adults.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has officially started!

2025 Festival of the Arts

The festival will run from January 17th, to February 24th, 2025. There is so much to see and do at this short festival, including so many new offerings, like new Food Studios and menu items, new merchandise, and a new exhibit at CommuniCore Hall! CommuniCore Hall is EPCOT’s new festival space, which opened last June and is now home to a Disney on Broadway exhibit! Let’s take a look inside!

Why We’re Getting Worried About the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

It’s official! One of our favorite EPCOT festivals, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is returning SOON, and we’re already making our list of everything we want to eat and drink now that we have the full list of food booths and menus.

Of course, there’s so much MORE to the festival than just food and drinks, including the Eat to the Beat concert series, which is also always a LOT of fun. This year’s festival is starting a little later than usual (although it’s in line with the festival pre-2020) and begins on August 29th and runs through November 23rd. However, as we get closer to the festival’s first day, we’re getting kinda’ concerned about some particular things.

We don’t like to root for Disney mishaps, but when they do happen, the results can be pretty entertaining.

Regardless of how you feel about the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza at EPCOT in Disney World, reactions around the internet have been less-than-stellar. It could be argued that Disney’s biggest mistake was opening a festival hub without an actual festival to celebrate. While we wait for the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival later this year, CommuniCore Hall is basically just an empty space with chairs, tables, and some banners — and the internet has been RUTHLESS!

Is Disney TESTING US With the New Attraction in EPCOT?

EPCOT has FINALLY completed its massive transformation after nearly 5 years.

The final stage of this transformation was opening CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, a new flex space to be used during EPCOT festivals complete with an outdoor stage to use for performances. While we won’t see another EPCOT festival until Food & Wine begins on August 29th. In the meantime though, Disney has a few different offerings to entertain guests in this space throughout the day, and we’re starting to think that these attractions could be a TEST for Disney World’s future.
