We hope you brought your stretchy pants to EPCOT!
The 2023 Festival of the Arts has begun and that means we’re eating our way to EVERY SINGLE FOOD BOOTH. From full menus for ALL of the Festival booths to a complete list of the concerts you’ll be able to catch, we’ve got you covered throughout the fest! It’s time for a visit to the Mediterranean, because we’re heading to Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina!
Menu
Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina is located in the Morocco Pavilion, inside the original Tangierine Cafe quick service spot that was there before the 2020 closures. For the past few festivals, we’ve seen Grilled Kebabs and Stone-baked Moroccan Bread as options on the menu, and they’re here yet again.
Besides those, there are two returning dishes on the menu this year, along with some returning drinks as well!
But the thing that REALLY catches our eye is the prices! All the food items here are under $6 each, making this one of the cheapest food booths at this year’s festival.
Eats
First up is Carrots Three Ways. This is a plant-based dish with berbere-spiced grilled carrots, pickled carrots, and carrot ginger purée for $4.25. These were surprisingly delicious!
We liked them a lot better than last year, and they had a great combination of sweet and savory flavors. The puree tasted like a carrot version of applesauce. One of our carrots was a little extra charred, and it definitely gave us garlic bread vibes…we certainly didn’t mind that!
You’ll also find the House-made Crispy Almond Phyllo Pockets with white chocolate pomegranate and milk chocolate orange for $4.75. These were SUPER flaky!
When we say flaky, we mean you would need to fully sit down to eat this or be one of the world’s least messy eaters! (Like seriously, fully close your mouth for each bite or you’ll be covered in pastry dust.) They had a strong cinnamon-forward flavor that we liked. We didn’t get much orange honestly, but overall still good.
We didn’t order the chicken or lamb kebabs this time since we had them recently, but in the past, we found that the chicken was well-seasoned, but it was still a bit dry. The garlic aïoli tastes more like mayonnaise. The carrot chickpea salad was light and refreshing, but we felt it needed more seasoning.
At the 2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, the Moroccan-Spiced Lamb Kebab was very well-cooked and also had that nice char on it. The seasoning was delicious, but again the garlic aïoli still tasted heavily of mayonnaise. We also found the chickpea and carrot salad with this one a little bland. It did taste a LITTLE different like there was more vinaigrette on it.
We also tried the Stone-Baked Moroccon Bread during our visit to the Food & Wine Festival. The bread was so light and fluffy — it doesn’t even NEED any dips. The hummus just tasted like regular store-bought hummus, and the Zhoug dip had a strong garlic taste, but we liked it. The chermoula dip had a strong olive taste, so if you don’t like olives, you might not like this dip.
Honestly, we would’ve just preferred the bread on its own. But what about the drinks?
Drinks
There are quite a few returning drinks at this booth, like the Chai Tea Mint Mimosa that’s made with Twinings of London Chai Tea with Key lime sparkling wine and mint for $11.50. We’re not convinced that the flavors of chai tea, key lime, and mint go well together, but it’s for sure a unique combination. You can also get this made with Sprite for $4.50!
You can also get the Swilled Dog Sangria Hard Cider, 3 Daughters Brewing Chai Hard Cider, and Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Berry Cranders Hard Cider for $5.50 (for the smaller portion) and a flight of all three for $10.
OVERALL
Should you go to Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina? Well, if you’ve tried the kebabs or bread at the past few festivals, you can definitely skip those. The carrots and the phyllo were definitely delicious returning items that we would recommend, and they’re even on the cheaper side. Did you notice that all the eats at this booth are under $6? That’s a steal!

My family will be visiting Epcot for the first time on the last day of Festival of the Arts. We have been watching your videos to prepare. Thank you. Question? As this is a food festival what ride lines allow you to eat while you wait for the ride?
