REVIEW: We Have Complicated Feelings about Disney's New Treat

It’s no surprise that one of our favorite ways of exploring Disney World is to go on the hunt for new treats!

And Disney’s Riviera Resort is so good at tempting us with decadent eats. From the top-tier character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace to the seasonal offerings at Petit Cafe, this resort is filled with good food. Today, we found a new surprise at Primo Piatto, a quick-service restaurant that serves up some tasty food in a pinch, and it gave us some mixed feelings.

This beautiful treat we found on the menu today is called Fruits Rouge Cheesecake, and it is a stunner!

This is a vanilla cheesecake with strawberry jam and raspberries topped with vanilla whipped panna cotta and a chocolate coin. Look at how bright those berries are — Disney sure picked an appropriate name for this one!

Y’all, this might be the creamiest cheesecake we’ve ever eaten — it was SO good. The panna cotta was light with a touch of vanilla flavor and practically melts on your tongue, and it paired really well with the fresh strawberries on top.

The jam on the bottom had both strawberries and raspberries, which added a nice tartness to the dessert — but here’s where it got a little odd. In the jam, there were pretty large chucks of fruit that threw us off. Like, too-big-for-our-spoon big, and too tough to cut. We almost would have preferred to just have the fruit topping and a crust on the bottom.

Seriously, so creamy

Overall this was a really tasty dessert and for $6.49, we thought it was a pretty good deal. It was some of the creamiest cheesecake we’ve ever had after all. If you love cheesecake or really fruity desserts, you’ll probably really like this one! If you’re more of a cheesecake purist, however, or don’t like big chunks of fruit in your dessert — you might want to pass on this.
