Gingerbready or not, here the holidays come!
We have been LOVING exploring the resorts at Disney World and seeing what gingerbread displays they are showing off this year. Now, it’s time for Disneyland’s turn! With the Festival of Holidays in full swing at Disneyland Resort, we have found some pretty spectacular things to share with you– including their Grand Gingerbread House!
We have been taking some time to explore all of what they have to offer at the Festival of Holidays at Disney’s California Adventure. Of course, we had to make our way over to the Grand Californian Hotel to see what they had going on in their lobby to celebrate the holidays — and we weren’t disappointed.
We were met with a stunning lobby that really brought the phrase “deck the halls” to life. It was full of beautiful greenery, tons of twinkling lights, and a huge Christmas tree. Not only that, but we also got a great look at this year’s gingerbread house!
This gingerbread house is lovingly named their “Grand Gingerbread House” — and we see why! The Grand Gingerbread house is meant to be a replica of the hotel itself and took a lot of hard work, effort, and sugar to create.
Standing at 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide, this creation is a modern marvel. It was created with over 600 pounds of gingerbread, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 founds of fondant, one pound of pixie dust (which is A LOT in the pixie world), and even has 25 hidden Mickeys for you and your family to find!
We can see our friends Chip and Dale showing off this gingerbread house. It truly is a stunning creation and everyone involved with its creation should be proud! Keep checking in with us at DFB for more looks at the upcoming holiday festivities!
