It’s time! Pixar Fest officially opened on April 26th at Disneyland Resort — and runs through August 4th — and we’re checking out this celebration of all things Pixar from food, to merchandise, to parades, and more!
And right now, we’re here to talk about THE FOOD! There’s a full menu of limited-time treats that you’ll find at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and even Downtown Disney!
We’re checking out some of the special treats today…let’s see what we’re snacking on! First up, some new snacks in Disneyland Park!
Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor
Our first stop is for ice cream! At Gibson Girl, you’ll find the Eye Scream Cone inspired by Monsters, Inc.! This is a scoop of Pistachio ice cream dipped in green chocolate, garnished with a candy eye and horns.
If you’re a fan of pistachio ice cream this might be the snack for you. However, if you don’t care pistachios this might not be the treat for you. The shell tasted like white chocolate and didn’t melt. But the ice cream inside it did, which made it a little messy. For the price, we thought it might be a little expensive for one scoop of ice cream, but it is certainly a creative treat!
You can snag this specialty cone for $9.29.
The Tropical Hideaway
We’re taking a break in the tropics to check out the new Pineapple Coconut Float inspired by Lava. This non-boozy drink features Blue DOLE Pineapple-Coconut Juice topped with DOLE Whip soft serve, strawberry lava, and a gummy!
It’s blue! And DOLE Whip! And a lot of fun. It was a very refreshing treat and all the flavors worked really well together! The tartness of the pineapple went deliciously with the strawberry “lava.” It’s a perfect summer day snack that makes you feel like you’re eating a little healthier because of all the fruity flavors (so that’s a win, right?).
This special DOLE Whip float is priced at $9.29.
Troubadour Tavern
Next, we’re headed to Troubadour Tavern for the all-new Firetown Mac & Cheese Bites inspired by Elemental.
These Fried Gouda mac and cheese bites tossed in four-chile rub are soft and chewy goodness! If you like spice, this will do it for ya. It was spicier than we were expecting. We were hit with spice and then got small flavors of cheese underneath. Even though it was spicy, it wasn’t overdone. If you don’t like spice, you might want to skip them, but anyone who enjoys a bit of heat will like them!
You can buy these spicy bites for $11.49!
We’re also checking out a new snack in Disney California Adventure today!
Churros near Goofy’s Sky School
At the churro stand near Goofy’s Sky School we’re checking out the new Mr Potato Head Chip Churro! This churro is inspired by Toy Story and features a churro topped with crushed potato chips and a chocolate drizzle.
This sweet and salty snack is possibly the best churro we’ve had in a long time. It was a warm churro that blended the sweet, salty, and chocolate flavors beautifully. We hope we can grab it again before it goes away! If you don’t like sweet and salty foods, then you’ll probably want to skip it, but we were big fans of the flavor combinations.
You can buy your own Mr. Potato Head Chip Churro for $7.25!
These are just a few of the specialty snacks you’ll find at this year’s Pixar Fest! Stay tuned as we check out even more!
And remember, the special Pixar Fest food booths open up in Disney California Adventure on May 10th and we’ll be eating all the food that day!
Stay tuned for more fun from this year’s Pixar Fest at Disneyland!
