It’s been five years since Disney World’s historic closure in 2020, but some things still haven’t returned completely to normal.
Minnie van
First, FastPass is a thing of the past, and Disney World replaced it with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly Genie+). You still can’t have purchases made in the parks sent back to your hotel. MagicBands are no longer free. Another big change concerns Minnie vans, which are operated by Lyft. Before 2020, you could have a Minnie van pick you up at the airport. Now for many Disney World visitors, that’s still true. However, believe it or not, select Disney World hotel guests still have access to that service.
Be sure to fasten your seatbelts…your next flight could be a bumpy one!
Air Travel
A lot has changed with air travel over the past year — including some positive developments, such as security adjustments that benefit families and the relaxation of the shoes-off rule when going through security screenings. However, according to a report, more problems might arise once you’re up in the air.

If you’ve traveled to visit either Disney World or Disneyland, you’ve probably spent some time in an airport and a LOT of time waiting in line at the TSA security checkpoint.
MCO Airport Security
Now, granted, some recent changes have made the TSA checkpoints a little easier and faster to navigate plus if you have TSA PreCheck, you can skip on over to the (sometimes) shorter TSA PreCheck shorter line. However, one hotel makes going through security even easier because you can do it right AT the hotel…and you don’t even have to be staying there to use this security checkpoint!

Disney World is growing at an almost unprecedented rate!

Right now, for better or worse, every one of the Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom — has several large-scale projects happening.
