Disney’s latest ship, the Disney Destiny, is set for its maiden voyage this coming November, and recently, we got to check out certain elements of the ship that SURPRISED us.
Disney Destiny
The Destiny, the latest ship from the ever-expanding Disney Cruise Line, will be themed to Heroes and Villains, with environments based on “on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions” according to the company. Disney’s Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”

The NEW Disney Destiny sets sail on November 20th, 2025! Picture the classic Disney Cruise ships we know and love, but with an epic twist. The Disney Destiny will be a sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, and Disney revealed that the ship will have a first-of-its-kind design theme: Heroes and Villains. In fact, the design will draw “on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions,” highlighting characters from The Lion King, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Hercules. Now that we know the basics, let’s talk about the FOOD!
We love sailing on a cruise as much as the next person, but we know many people have been hesitant to book their next vacation this year amid the large number of disease outbreaks that have happened on cruise ships this year.
Disney Treasure stateroom
In February, a third norovirus outbreak had already occurred on one singular cruise line, and earlier this month, nearly 240 people got sick with norovirus aboard the luxury Cunard Queen Mary 2. While Disney Cruise Line has thankfully been spared from these outbreaks at this time, many other cruise lines have struggled with them, and despite this being a particularly bad season for outbreaks, CDC cruise ship inspectors have just been let go from their positions.
