There are many things in Disney World that have come and gone over the years.

Some of them we really miss, while others we don’t think about often. However, we haven’t seen a huge closure super recently, but that’s about to change in less than 2 months because Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser is about to close.
If you’ve been hoping to get on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars Hotel) BEFORE it shuts down later in 2023, NOW is the time to act!

Reservations for the remainder of 2023 had been put on pause, and then reopened, only to fill up FAST. As of May 26th, Disney warned that the experience was unavailable for new bookings, but that some availability might pop up from time to time. And that time is…NOW.
Recently, Disney announced that it would be closing the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser.

The hotel that isn’t REALLY a hotel, but instead an interactive Star Wars experience, is set to have its final voyage from September 28th-30th. After Disney made the announcement, new bookings were temporarily closed. However, booking opened back up on May 26th. Then, later that same day, reservations were no longer available.
As you may already know, Disney World has announced that they’ll be closing the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel later this year.

The experience opened in March 2022, and it was truly one-of-a-kind. Similar to a cruise, you stay “onboard” the Halcyon Starcruiser for two days while you live out a Star Wars story and participate in activities, watch entertainment offerings, and have all your meals in the dining room. But the experience didn’t perform as well as Disney hoped, and now it’s set to close. Bookings reopened for the final voyages today, and if you’re trying to plan one last trip, we have some bad news.
Disney fans received some pretty startling news recently about the CLOSURE of the Star Wars hotel in Disney World. The immersive hotel experience opened just a little over a year ago, in March 2022, so the news that it was closing so soon came as a surprise to many.

However, there were certainly warning signs about the Galactic Starcruiser‘s profitability. After a few sold-out months around the time of the hotel’s opening, we started to see voyages sell out less and less often, and Disney even reduced the number of voyages offered each week in response to the decrease in demand.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opened last year for two-night voyages aboard the starship Halcyon that allowed visitors to live out their ULTIMATE Star Wars dreams by becoming part of the onboard Star Wars story. Not only that, but they also got to have unique dining experiences, get lightsaber training, help fly the ship from the bridge, and more. However, Disney announced this week that the Halcyon would make its last voyage at the end of September 2023. Well, that voyage is now officially sold out.
