The restaurants in the Magic Kingdom have made turning the calendar to a new month even more momentous with their “of-the-month” offerings.
October is no different — and boy are we being rewarded with some “of-the-month” treats! Plus, now you can get some desserts that were previously exclusive to the Halloween Party all day, everyday.
That’s right, that’s a Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Diggity Dog of the Month from Casey’s Corner — but that isn’t all Casey is cooking up this month!
So, if you’re thinking, “I sure could go for some potatoes…” well, then, Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom has a little something (or two!) for you!
The Featured Hot Diggity Dog of the Month for October is the Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Dog! And when we heard about it, we knew we had to try it. [Read more…]
Last week, we brought you a preview of some of the fun, tasty, and unique ice cream flavors that Salt & Straw is known for. And now we’re happy to say that Disneyland Resort guests can start trying these flavors for themselves starting tomorrow, October 12th!
The family-run business (cousins Kim and Tyler Malek are the creators of Salt & Straw) is known for unique flavors of handmade, small batch ice cream utilizing local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. [Read more…]
We’re suckers for original Disneyland locales, and The Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland is one of those that totally steals our hearts. A mainstay of the park since day one, there’s plenty of lore about this now-quick service spot, including the presence of Walt’s personal box — at the right-most corner of the restaurant’s balcony — which is now open to the public.
Today we’re bringing you a guest review from our DFB pal Jennifer Elliott, who attended the new Rose & Crown Tea Experience in Epcot’s World Showcase! This weekend, I had the privilege to attend The Rose & Crown’s brand new Tea Experience. It began promptly at 9:45 am, so make sure to allow plenty of time to walk to the United Kingdom Pavilion.
We bid a sad kwaherini to our beloved Peanut Butter Brownie at the Mara at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge this summer, but we’re thrilled to say: it’s back! But things aren’t precisely as they were. The original Peanut Butter Brownie was a dense chocolate brownie completely covered in creamy peanut butter frosting.
Cuties® are America’s original clementine brand. And a visit to the Cuties website reveals that Cuties® have been announced as the Official Citrus Fruit of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort!
So keep an eye out for Cuties to pop up at all sorts of food locations around the parks this fall. Think especially of better-for-you-fare spots like Prince Eric’s Village Market in Magic Kingdom, Anaheim Produce in Hollywood Studios, Harambe Fruit Market in Animal Kingdom and the like. Cuties will also be available as a side option for kids’ meals at select Counter Service restaurants. Guests will also see other Cuties branding in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in Disneyland Resort. [Read more…]
It’s Halloween Time at Disneyland Park, and even the extraterrestrials at Alien Pizza Planet are celebrating! (And, yup: Alien Pizza Planet is still a thing, hanging on even after the end of Pixar Fest!) So how do the Aliens get their ghouls on?
With Cosmic Chili Pasta! (What? Pasta isn’t the first thing you think of for Halloween? Well, we’ll just have to go with it because Aliens.) (Also: carbs.)
The 2018 Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic will take place on Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, 2018.
And this event — which will mark its 9th anniversary this year — is one of my absolute annual favorites!
This two-night fall event coincides with the 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival and includes The Causeway (which features more than 90 food and beverage stations with dishes from the resort’s 17 restaurants and lounges as well as more than 30 wineries) and four special food areas — Carnival Corner, Beer Garden, Chinatown, and NEW for 2018, The Pig & Poke — along with Educational Seminars.
And this week, we attended a Preview Event to see what’s in store, and let you know what you’ve just GOT to eat on the Causeway this year at the Classic!
First up, from Cib’s Smokehouse is roasted and smoked Iberico pork, fennel puree, honey caramelized apple, and buttered turnip.
