We’ve shared an update on when the service from the airport to Disney may begin, a decision regarding its route that has been delayed indefinitely, and more news. Over the past few months, we’ve taken a look at one BIG milestone the train hit, a peek at its progress from the sky, and even news about Universal plan to push for an airport train connection. Recently, we got a big update as to where the plans for this train from the airport to Disney World stand.

Starting in 2022, Disney’s Magical Express is being discontinued, and although there is a new bus service from Mears on the way, this train is another way to get from the airport to Disney World. We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress and any announcements for the upcoming train, but now we have more information about when construction on the new Brightline Train could start!

The train will directly transport guests from the Orlando International Airport to a stop in Disney Springs, which will be super helpful when the Magical Express service is discontinued in January 2022. While the train’s Disney Springs stop was originally due to open in 2023, it has been delayed to 2026. But now, construction has reached a BIG milestone!

Once completed, the high-speed train’s newest route will be able to bring guests directly to Disney Springs from Orlando International Airport. The train also connects to spots in Southern Florida, like Miami, Boca Raton, and more. We’ve speculated how much the train will cost, reported its projected timeline, and now, we’re getting a closer look at the progress it’s made!

This train was originally targeting a 2023 opening date, but that has now potentially been pushed back all the way to 2026. But, that’s the thing — there’s still a LOT left to plan. Recently, we shared that one division from the State of Florida essentially set a deadline for Brightlight to meet when it comes to some necessary agreements and plans for its route from the airport through a Disney station and on to Tampa. Today, we got an update on those plans, potential complications, and when the train to Disney World could be operating!
