We’ve seen several closures take place at Disney World recently, from Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster refurbishments to the reimagining of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney World isn’t the only park undergoing quite a bit of change at the moment — LOTS of rides will soon be under refurbishment at Disneyland in California. Could Disney World Close Again Due to COVID-19?

It has been a complex few years for the world and for the Walt Disney Company.

Disney took a big hit during the closure of the parks.

When the theme parks closed, the company suffered greatly due to the loss of a major source of income. Things have improved a bit, with officials saying in the past that the “Full-Blown Explosive Pandemic Phase” is over. But, there are still concerns as the counties Disney World is in were moved back into the “high” risk level. So, Could the Disney parks close again? Let’s break it down.

Shanghai Disney Resort Announces Reopening Date After Weather-Related Closure

We’ve seen many Disney park closures over the years.

We definitely missed Disneyland when it was closed!

All the parks around the world had massive closures last year (and into this year) due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but they’ve also closed in the past for various weather conditions. Shanghai Disney Resort was closed this week for that very reason, but it’ll soon be back up and running!

What’s the MOST anticipated restaurant opening in Disney World? We bet we know what you’re going to say.

Space 220 is the upcoming space-themed restaurant that should open in EPCOT…someday. Now, this restaurant has been a LONG time coming. Space 220 was announced way back in July of 2017. It was supposed to open this past Winter but apparently ran into a bit of a rocky patch. Even with EPCOT now reopened, Space 220 is still closed — so what gives?!

Disney Chairman Bob Iger recently expressed his expectations for reopened Disney parks, spurring Wall Street to make their own predictions.

With the Disney parks currently closed, executives and analysts are looking to the potentially very different future of the parks. Even as Iger began to suggest measures that could be taken to make guests feel safe, Wells Fargo analysts are predicting that the Disney parks may not return to their pre-closure attendance levels for two years.
