We toured the new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort earlier this year and were left pretty impressed. With that said, we recently returned for a little more fanfare, which included recreational activities, a dinner show, and tons of fun. Over the span of a weekend, our experience at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort was elevated from an underrated resort to one of our absolute favorites — and we can’t wait to tell you how!

NEWS: Disney Reveals NEW Nods to a Permanently CLOSED Water Park Are Coming Soon!

Soon, over 350 NEW cabins will open in Disney World. Disney previously announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness are getting a makeover. Yep, those classic log cabin homes are being totally redesigned to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort (but luckily, you don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book a stay in the cabins).

The concept art shows off the modern NEW cabins,”inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling.” These cabins are set to open this summer (along with a LOT of other things in Disney World), but first, Disney has to actually BUILD these things. This isn’t just a quick renovation, people. It’s a totally NEW design. Come take a look!

Back in 2023, Disney announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be getting a makeover. Imagineers have redesigned these spaces to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort (but you don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book a stay in a new cabin.)

Perhaps the Cabins at Fort Wilderness is Disney’s answer to an idyllic life in the woods. There’s something about a cozy log cabin that screams “comfort,” right? These cabins have been pretty popular among Disney fans. They give you plenty of space, come with a full kitchen, and make you forget you’re living in the middle of a major Florida city.
