A popular Florida airport just made history! Breeze Airways just added a nonstop flight between Tampa International Airport and San Jose, Costa Rica. This is the first flight connecting from Tampa to Costa Rica in over 25 years.

Breeze will soon be the only route offering direct flights from Tampa to San Jose. Service to San Jose begins on October 3rd with routes on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The United States Department of Homeland Security previously announced that passengers traveling through airports without a Real ID would be charged a fee of $45, and the deadline for that change is quickly approaching.

You no longer have to take off your shoes when going through security, it’s possible the amount of liquid allowed in your bags could change (they’re looking at it — we’re crossing our fingers it’ll happen!), and we saw Orlando Airport (MCO) add in dedicated Family Lanes and Honor Lanes for U.S. military members and their families. However, there’s ANOTHER change that’s now taking place at airports across the United States, and it’ll cost you some money you weren’t expecting to spend if you break the rule — not flying with a REAL ID? Well, now it’ll cost you.

The company has ended its “bags fly free” policy, as well as ended its open seating option for flights, leaving some fans with mixed feelings about the airline. Southwest is now offering a deal that might have travelers forget all about the big changes happening, but it’s ending soon!
Southwest Airlines has majorly shaken things up with the announcement that they would do away with their open seating policy by later this year, but they recently announced that on top of that, they would be doing away with their “two free checked bags” allowance for all customers.

In response to this most recent announcement, many customers have been publicly stating that they’ll be looking to fly with other airlines, and do you know who’s ready to capitalize on that? None other than Spirit Airlines, even though they’re just barely back from bankruptcy.
