Many things have been returning to Disneyland Resort lately!
Several restaurants are back open, we’ve seen the return of buffets, fireworks are back, and we’ll soon see the return of Oogie Boogie Bash! As things continue to open back up, we’ve also seen the return of entertainment, and we now have an update about the return of some iconic Main Street, U.S.A. performers at Disneyland Park!
The Dapper Dans barbershop quartet are returning to Disneyland on September 3rd!
According to The Orange County Register, the group is currently in rehearsals preparing for their return after being gone from the park for 17 months due to the pandemic.
Disney Live Entertainment music producer John Glaudini said, “They sound great. They are masters of this music. It’s just wonderful to come back and hear that it is just as vibrant,” according to The Register.
The Dapper Dans will be back on Main Street, U.S.A. and join already returned entertainment like the Bootstrappers, Pearly Band, Five & Dime, and the Coke Corner piano player.
According to the Orange County Register, the Dapper Dans held their first rehearsal on Tuesday, August 24th, after being apart for more than a year. They are preparing songs, jokes, and dance numbers for the Halloween season in Disneyland!
Glaudini also said that they’re “working on one little extra thing…a little gift especially for the ones that know the band’s repertoire,” says The Register. The Dapper Dans will be singing with some distance between themselves and the audience as part of the COVID-19 precautions.
You may remember seeing the last performance of the Disneyland Dapper Dans in March 2020 — 16 Dapper Dans came together and harmonized from their living rooms and at-home recording studios to make a video they shared on YouTube! We’ll make sure to show you the Dapper Dans’ return to Disneyland on September 3rd, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
