Could Disneyland be seeing a massive entertainment shift soon?

When Walt Disney said that Disneyland would never be completed, he was probably alluding to upgrades and land expansions — an influx of creativity. However, it’s unlikely he anticipated tons of entertainment leaving Disneyland, with nothing anticipated to take its place. In fact, this exodus of entertainment could be getting worse VERY SOON.
One of the BEST parts about visiting a Disney Park is the entertainment.

In particular, the nighttime spectaculars can be POPULAR among Disney fans. Yep, we’re pretty sure these shows have their own cult followings. (We may or may not be part of them.) Anyway, some of the BEST shows can be found over on the West Coast — at Disneyland! Some beloved nighttime shows are returning in 2024 for a very limited time, and you’re NOT gonna want to miss it.
2024 is almost upon us, and we know we have so much to look forward to in Disneyland Resort.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure coming soon and Fantasmic! returning are only two of the exciting offerings slated for 2024. However, now we know two new entertainment offerings are coming to Disneyland, too!
On April 22nd of this year, there was an incident during Disneyland’s Fantasmic! performance. The fire-breathing Maleficent dragon animatronic unexpectedly caught on fire, causing the show to end early.

Shows paused after the incident (luckily, no one was hurt and the fire department responded quickly to the scene), and an update appeared on Fantasmic!’s webpage, stating that, “With the goal of delivering the best possible show for our guests, performances of Fantasmic! are paused through at least Labor Day.” Now, we finally have an update on WHEN Fantasmic! will resume and how it will be different once it returns. As part of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebrations, Disney shared that the “Magic Happens” Parade will be returning to Disneyland Resort. It was supposed to make its return today, but that didn’t happen!

We love Disneyland!
Splash Mountain is becoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (in both Disneyland and Disney World), and we got a first look at the model for the new attraction. Disneyland is also getting a Tiana’s Palace restaurant along with a Princess and the Frog-themed gift shop. There’s an expansion coming to Avenger’s Campus as well! We’ve heard that two fireworks shows will be returning for Disneyland’s holiday season, as well as seen the merchandise that will be coming to the parks. While most of the offerings that were stopped due to the COVID-19 Pandemic are back in the parks, there are still a few offerings that are just making their return. One of which just made its return on June 21st — that’s right, this Disneyland All-American College Band is BACK!
Earlier this year, Disney Parks began something called Celebrate Soulfully which offered experiences that celebrate Black culture and heritage. Celebrate Soulfully was introduced as a way to celebrate Black History Month and it brought with it special food items, entertainment, and merchandise.

June is Black Music Month and Disneyland is celebrating big with the return of an exciting show, plus many more entertainment offerings!
Slowly but surely, more entertainment offerings are returning to the Disney parks.
Disney California Adventure
Tonight is the official return of the Main Street Electrical Parade and Disneyland Forever at Disneyland Park in California. But, Disneyland isn’t the only park getting some nighttime love. Tonight, a spectacular nighttime show returns to Disney California Adventure Park, and we couldn’t be more excited!
