What’s your favorite thing to eat for breakfast when you’re vacationing at Disney?
You’ve got a few options available to you: you could pack granola bars or snacks for an on-the-go breakfast, grab a classic Mickey waffle, or go for something a little elaborate. If you’re at Disneyland Park in California, something NEW has arrived for breakfast. But is it worth your cash? We tried it to find out!
Introducing the NEW Galactic Breakfast Bowl from Galactic Grill in Disneyland. This new dish arrived recently with several other new items at Disneyland Resort. These are made with Seasoned Potato Bites topped with Scrambled Eggs, Cheese, Maple Sausage, and Country Gravy.
We know what you’re thinking. Wait a minute…don’t those sound and look kinda like the Breakfast Bowl available at Woody’s Lunch Box in Disney’s Hollywood Studios?! And, well, you’d be right. The Woody’s Lunch Box version comes with potato barrels, smothered in smoked brisket, scrambled eggs, and country gravy. The finishing touch is the green onion garnish. So they’re pretty similar, except that the Disneyland version has maple sausage instead of brisket and some red peppers on top.
We liked the Woody’s Lunch Box version (though we wished it had more brisket), but does the Galactic Breakfast Bowl deliver? YES! Our reporter who tried this fully admitted that they didn’t think they were going to like this, but it totally won them over.
The maple sausage was definitely the best part. It tasted like we had just dipped the sausage in syrup. We couldn’t really taste any seasonings on the tater tots themselves, but they were still warm and delicious as-is. The eggs were nothing special, but still good (just your average scrambled eggs).
We didn’t really taste too much of the cheese it was meant to be topped with, except for a little hint in some bites. But the country gravy on top was a perfect topping for everything and went well with every bite! Plus, the red peppers on top added some crunchiness to the bowl.
Did we just find a new favorite quick service breakfast in Disneyland? We think so! It could maybe use a bit more cheese, but truly we don’t have any big complaints about this one. If you want a quick and delicious breakfast option, you’re looking at it folks! If you prefer your breakfast to be very, very light though, this might be a skip.
If you want to try it for yourself, stop by Galactic Grill to get it for $9.49.
If you’re looking for other breakfast offerings in Disneyland, Galactic Grill has lots of other choices! You could get the American Breakfast Burrito, French Toast Sticks, and the Loaded Breakfast Sandwich, as well. Make sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney food news.
