Maybe you’re like us and just love the food: who can resist a Ronto Wrap or a Carrot Cake Cookie? Whatever the case, things are always going on in Hollywood Studios, so let’s take a look at the latest!
Hurricane Ian has officially made landfall in Florida, bringing extreme winds, rain, and potential flooding with it. In preparation for the storm, Disney World closed its theme parks on Wednesday and Thursday (September 28th and 29th). The Orlando International Airport also shut down commercial operations, which means anyone staying at Disney World hotels is currently riding out the storm inside those rooms.

Disney Cast Members take care of the guests while they’re stuck at the hotel, often coming up with indoor activities like movie marathons or character meet-and-greets. Since most guests likely don’t have much food with them in their hotel rooms, another concern is making sure everyone gets the food they need. October is bringing lots of exciting things to Disney World — Halloween celebrations, EPCOT’s 40th Anniversary, and for the first time this year, Historically Black Colleges and Universities Week. But there’s another exciting event coming back to Disney Springs — Oktoberfest!

Tornado warnings have been issued for one Disney World county, with the rest of Florida under a state of emergency. Much was uncertain about where or when the storm would come ashore, but now it looks like our questions have been answered — as Hurricane Ian has officially made landfall in Florida.

We’ve got a look at what’s been going on in the Orlando and Disney World areas, as well as info on the airport closures and hotel accommodations. The Disney World parks, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld are all closed due to the storm, but now, we’ve seen a sign that the closure in Disney World could be longer than expected.
Over the past few days, we’ve seen Hurricane Ian strengthen to a massive storm and get closer and closer to Florida.

With the theme parks and the airport closed, both locals and visitors are hunkering down and preparing to weather the storm as it arrives in full force later on Wednesday. However, there seems to be no “calm before the storm” as tornadoes become the next threat for the area.
We think everyone who goes to Disney World should get at least one pair of ears to wear during their trip! It gets you in that magical mindset and makes a fun souvenir when your trip is over.
