5 Things We're MOST Excited To Try at Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Disney World

Move aside, TRON. Journey of Water who? This restaurant opening should be the most anticipated Disney World debut of 2023!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a new table service buffet coming to Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios this spring. Recently, Disney released the menu and we have some thoughts.

Most of the spread is what you would expect from a BBQ joint: a variety of meats with classic BBQ sides like biscuits, fried pickles, and mac & cheese. You can count on us to bring you a full review of Roundup Rodeo once it opens, but until then we want to highlight which menu items we are most looking forward to!

One of the first items on the menu that caught our eye was There’s a Sausage in My Boot. This is a spiced pork sausage, which has been fire-grilled over live oak to give it an added kick. Often, we find that when Disney labels something as spicy, it turns out to be kind of mild. It’s rare to actually get a truly spicy dish in the parks. We are hoping this actually delivers on its promise! We also kind of hope it gets served in a boot.

Next up are the Force Field Fried Pickles, which are jumbo pickle spears coated with a dill-flavored breading and fried “to perfection.” While most fried pickles come in slices, a few restaurants opt for spears instead. If your favorite part of fried pickles is the crispy exterior then spears might not satisfy you, but pickle-lovers will appreciate these!

Another side we are looking forward to is the Slinky Doooooooooog Mac & Cheese. This dish is a spiral pasta in a creamy house-made cheese sauce topped with crumbled cheddar crackers. If you’ve been following us for a while you know we’ve tried a lot of Disney mac & cheeses. It will be interesting to see how this one matches up!

For the desserts, the one that looks the most fun has to be the Cupcake à la Forky! This is a classic chocolate cake with a gooey chocolate ganache center topped with velvety graham cracker buttercream and a sugar cookie. It’s got a lot going on but hopefully, all of the individual components will come together to create something delicious!

The Frozen Peanut Butter & Jelly definitely intrigues us. Disney promised a fun frozen twist on the classic peanut butter & jelly featuring peanut butter whiskey — definitely not your kids’ traditional lunch! This is probably the most interesting item on the menu, and we can’t wait to see what it’s actually like in person.

But, there is something interesting to note about this menu — some of the items are named after the characters themselves, and we don’t love the idea of thinking we’re eating these beloved Toy Story pals! If you can get past that, Roundup Rodeo BBQ sounds like it might be the perfect spot for a rootin’ tootin’ good time.
