So many things are changing at the Disney parks that it can be difficult to keep them all straight!
PhotoPass changes will soon be made for those who buy Genie+ in Disney World, Splash Mountain has CLOSED in Disney World to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (and it will eventually close in Disneyland too), and other changes have been announced for the West Coast. With all of this news, you may have missed or forgotten about two critical adjustments coming to Disneyland soon.
First, this is your official reminder that Park Hopping is changing in Disneyland on February 4th, 2023!
Right now, guests with a valid Park Hopper ticket (or Magic Key pass) can hop to the second park of their choice starting at 1PM. But starting February 4th, 2023, Park Hopping will begin earlier — starting at 11AM!
Here’s a quick rundown of Park Hopping at Disneyland Resort in general:
- You still need a park reservation for the first park you want to visit
- So you will make a park reservation for the first park you plan to visit on your selected date
- THEN you can cross between the parks starting at 1PM (currently) / 11AM starting February 4th
- A park reservation is NOT required for your second park at this time
- Hopping is subject to the second park’s capacity and availability
Under the current rules, Disney notes that after 1PM, if you haven’t entered any park, you can enter EITHER park (“despite what you designated for your first park on your park reservation.”) We expect this rule will remain in place but the time would be shifted up to 11AM. Be sure to check what rules are in place during your visit!
Disney’s Park Hopper website also advises guests to check the Disneyland app or Park Hours Calendar for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours because those can “change depending on the day and park.”
In the calendar below, you can see the change from the 1PM Park Hopper Availability time to 11AM on February 4th. So get ready to HOP earlier than you could before, giving you the chance to spend more time in the second park of your choice.
BUT this isn’t the only change coming to Disneyland on February 4th. Starting February 4th, Disneyland guests will also be able to access select FREE PhotoPass downloads included with the cost of their Disneyland ticket!
The photos available will specifically be downloads of your digital attraction photos. That’ll be available throughout the Disney100 celebration.
We’ll keep an eye out for more news about changes coming to Disneyland, so stay tuned. For your COMPLETE guide to Disneyland for 2023, check out our video below!
