Disney World has been going through some major changes recently.
The EPCOT transformation is complete (well, mostly because we’re still waiting for the completion of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza). A new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is coming to Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is getting an expansion. Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A. is getting a re-theme. Disney World hotels are ALSO changing, though, and we’re going to give you the rundown of what’s going on.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
If you were planning on getting some pool time in on your trip in 2024, you’ll want to know about the pool closures happening at Caribbean Beach. The Fuentes del Morro pool, which is the pool closest to the hotel’s main lobby, will be closed through late March for refurbishment.
However, Caribbean Beach has five other pools that visitors will be able to swim in during that time, but note that they could mean a bit of a hike from your room depending on where it’s located (Caribbean Beach is HUGE, y’all).

Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter
Another pool closure will affect Port Orleans — French Quarter. The Doubloon Lagoon pool will be closed through April. Visitors will be allowed to use the pool at Port Orleans — Riverside just next door, but that could be a bit of a hike just for some pool time.
So if you’re planning to stay at Port Orleans — French Quarter and want to use the pool while there, you may want to consider booking a stay at Port Orleans — Riverside instead.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The Polynesian is getting some brand new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas, and construction is currently underway. That means those visiting the hotel might hear construction noise during the day.
However, those villas are expected to open later in 2024, so if you’re interested in staying there, you might want to keep an eye out for an opening date.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
There is a LOT going on at the Boardwalk Inn right now. First, the hotel is getting updated rooms with new decor and furniture. But there is also a closure you need to be aware of. Big River Grille & Brewing Works has permanently closed.Â
However, two NEW dining spots are coming to the Boardwalk, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is currently under construction and set to open this year. Disneyland’s Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will also be making a trek east and opening a location on the Boardwalk sometime in 2024.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Another hotel that’s been getting some new updated rooms is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The lobby is also getting a refresh. There is a currently LOT of construction going on at this hotel right now, so you may hear noise during the day.
Also, 1900 Park Fare will be reopening in 2024 with an updated character dining experience.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds
Disney’s newest DVC property will be opening this summer at Fort Wilderness Resort. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort have received some new fun updates and are now available for select DVC members to book.
The cabins will sleep up to six adults and will have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. A select number of cabins will also be dog-friendly.
Should We Be Worried About the New Fort Wilderness Cabins?
So as you can see, a LOT of changes are happening at Disney World hotels, and if you’re planning a stay in 2024, we wanted you to be aware of them.
