Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary has officially begun, and we’re thrilled we’re getting to check out everything the parks have to offer for this monumental event!
We’ve seen the new decorations on Sleeping Beauty Castle, and are looking forward to checking out all the entertainment you can experience during this summertime event. We’ve been excited about this all day, and now it’s finally time — we’re checking out the new World of Color Happiness! show in Disney California Adventure!
The new World of Color Happiness! show happens twice a night at 9 PM and 10:15 PM and takes place at Paradise Bay right in front of Incredicoaster. This is where the usual World of Color show happens each night as well, but to celebrate the event, a new show is taking its place for the summer.
We can’t forget one of the best parts though — there’s a Muppets pre-show! Kermit the Frog, Gonzo and other Muppet friends step into the spotlight to share safety information in a fun and silly song-and-dance number projected across the World of Color fountains.
Yes, this may be the greatest night of our lives. We even got to see Sam the Eagle, which made us feel VERY patriotic.
Gonzo even turns up, but um…does he really know a lot about safety? I’m not sure he’s the best person…err…Muppet… to be giving this safety briefing…
Wocka, Wocka!
Let the show begin! This new show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening-day dedication of Disneyland 70 years ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!” During the show, the emotion of happiness is explored through many different emotions, and is hosted by none other than Joy and her fellow emotion buddies from Inside Out and Inside Out 2.
Featuring fountains, unique lighting, colorful lasers, fog, and dramatic flame effects, this show will feature scenes from many of your favorite Disney and Pixar films, such as Turning Red, The Incredibles, A Goofy Movie, Tangled, Encanto, and more. You’ll see a lot of familiar faces, like Dumbo…
…Lady and the Tramp…
…Pooh…and more!
One of our favorite parts about this show is that YOU can influence part of it by voting which emotion — Sadness, Anger, Disgust, or Envy — gets a special spotlight in the show that night.
If you’ve ever seen World of Color, you’ll know how special of a show it is. Well, it’s even more special now, and you’ll want to make sure to catch it the next time you visit Disney California Adventure.
