Disney World is busy, busy, busy right now!

Let’s go to Disney World
Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios are all getting in on the fun and growth of the Disney resort. It’s been a lot to keep up with, so we’re doing a weekly round-up of the biggest theme park news right here! Let’s dive in.
Starting off with what we might be the most excited about, we finally got our first look at the finished refurbishment of Test Track! The ride officially reopens on June 22nd, 2025, but previews for Cast Members have already begun.

New sign
We got to hop on the attraction today, and we have SO much to say about it! The new queue removes the section where you get to build your own car, but it’s still pretty cool.

The new queue
There are 6 new show scenes that celebrate vehicles and who makes them. There’s also a new outdoor scene that focuses on the advancements in transportation.

There’s a pine scent
The ride also plays an instrumental version of “Fun to Be Free” from the original World of Motion after the narrator says the words “It’s Fun to Be Free.” The new show scenes depicting homes and home life have the same vibes as 1990s Innoventions!

We’re getting Innoventions vibes
The exterior of the ride didn’t change too much, and they also removed the interactive games at the ride’s exit queue.

Still the fastest ride in Disney World!
We are so excited for this new version of this ride to finally be ready to go! We’ve been missing the need for speed.

The ride will be adding a new character, new show scene, updated targets, and refurbished ride vehicles. Disney has previously given us a preview of what to expect from the changes with Imagineers testing the new blasters.

The ride will reopen sometime in 2026, although Disney has yet to give an official reopening date.

Finally, we officially confirmed the location of the brand new Monsters, Inc. roller coaster in Hollywood Studios! The new land, which is replacing Muppet Courtyard, doesn’t have an opening timeline but new maps have confirmed the new land will be expanded to fit the roller coaster.

The new coaster is a suspension-style coaster will take you through the famous door scene from Monsters, Inc. featuring Mike, Sully, and Boo! The rollercoaster show building will be placed in the Cast Member parking lot located behind the land.

In the photo above, the roller coaster is the building closest to the bottom of the photo within the parking lot lines. You can also see just how large the building is expected to be once construction is complete. Muppets Courtyard just closed a few weeks ago and Disney hasn’t confirmed if ground has broken on the new construction.

There is no opening timeline for the new land or coaster at the time of writing. The new land will feature the rollercoaster as the main attraction along with a show, new dining, and, of course, shopping. We can’t wait for even more news on this area!
