A popular attraction is closing soon in Disneyland Park, and we don’t want you to be caught by surprise!
The Haunted Mansion is closing SOON! And by soon, we mean really soon. Like tomorrow soon! So, get your last rides in today before the attraction temporarily closes.
The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Park is temporarily closing on August 9th, 2025. That means your last day to ride it for a bit will be August 8th. The good news is that it won’t be closed for too long! The Haunted Mansion is currently expected to reopen on August 22nd.
The popular attraction is closing to undergo a major change. When it reopens, it will be Haunted Mansion Holiday, which is inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Haunted Mansion will be looking A LOT different when it reopens. The outside will have new decor, and the attraction itself will also be getting an overlay. You will spot characters like Jack Skellington, Sally, and more when the Haunted Mansion Holiday opens.
While it can be disappointing if you are in Disneyland during the closure, we are so excited for The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay to return to the Haunted Mansion! You will be able to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday from August 22nd, 2025, until January 7th, 2026.
Halloween Time begins at the Disneyland Resort on August 22nd and lasts through October 31st, 2025. Halloween Time features special events, spooky decorations, “scary” snacking, and much more. The spooky season has almost arrived at Disneyland Resort!

“Halloween Time” at Disneyland starts in August now?!?!?! Seriously, that is NOT O.K. whatsoever!!!! Look, I get it, the park looks REALLY neat in October and the “holiday overlay” version of the Haunted Mansion is INSANELY popular….but….August is still in the SUMMER and some people actually LIKE going to Disneyland in August (I am one of those people), because August is the ONLY month in which all of the rides are fully operational AND in which the weather is great AND in which the crowds are TOLERABLE….people like me MIGHT like to see some Halloween decorations in August, but rest assured, people like me do NOT want to experience any “Christmas-themed” rides before Labor Day….personally, I hope everybody who likes going to Disneyland in August starts boycotting Disneyland in August, because perhaps the crowds would get so low that “upper management” would have no choice but to return to the “policy” of not doing anything to the Haunted Mansion until after Labor Day (which was always the case when I lived “out west” and had my annual pass)….I guess until things change for the better, I could start going to Disneyland in February instead (the only problem is there is always so much rain in February, and the “Alice in Wonderland” ride breaks down whenever it rains)….
