Why Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Might End Up Having One of Our Favorite Disney Hotel Pools

We’re thrilled that Disney’s newest hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, is still underway, because for a moment there, it didn’t look like it would ever happen!

This new hotel will be opening in 2027, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction updates. From what we’ve seen, the main hotel building is coming along well, but now we’ve gotten an updated look at the pool area, which includes a lazy river, and we’re ALREADY looking forward to relaxing.

Thanks to our friend @bioreconstruct on Instagram, we’ve got a new look at the lazy river and pool area of the hotel. We can see so far that the pool and lazy river will be separate from each other, but they are just a few steps away from one another. It looks like two of the lazy river entrances will be right next to the pool area, making it simple to go from one to the other.

From another view of the construction, we can also see what looks like a zero-entry section of the pool area, which we have a feeling will be big with families. It looks like the lazy river needs a few more pieces to be fully complete (if it’s going to go in a full loop, that is), but the base of the pool appears to be pretty complete.

We’re really looking forward to this new hotel, which will be a Disney Vacation Club Resort hotel, though regular non-DVC guests should also be able to book stays as well, if this DVC resort follows along with what we’ve seen other DVC hotels on property do. This hotel was originally called Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge Resort and was slated to open in 2022, but after the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays in 2020, construction was halted and picked up a few years later. The hotel is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists,” which makes it very unique — we can’t wait to see it come to life!
