We’ve got not-so-great news coming out of Disneyland Resort.
One of the most iconic attractions in the park, “it’s a small world” has been closed for refurbishment since the holiday edition of the ride was open for the holiday season at the end of 2024. Previously, the attraction was slated to reopen at the end of this month, but Disney has just announced that opening date has been pushed back.
Happy Star Wars season! Yes, it’s Season of the Force in Disneyland, and we are celebrating ALL there is to celebrate about that galaxy far, far away.
We’ve been enjoying this special time in Disneyland, which includes all kinds of fun space-themed snacks. Now, we’ve been trying every Star Wars treat we’ve been able to find (including snacks at Star Wars Nite), but we’ve come across yet another snack…and, y’all, this one sort of blew our minds. It’s the Peka Pretzel at the Tomorrowland Pretzel Cart, and we need to talk about it.
It’s basically Star Wars time of year, and we are SO HERE FOR IT. Yep, a huge celebration of all things Star Wars is happening RIGHT NOW in Disneyland called Season of the Force — and it even includes some new food items.
But beyond the food, we’ve also just attended the first Star Wars Nite of the year, AND we’re looking forward to May the 4th. Of course, that means that a lot of new Star Wars merchandise is dropping in shops, and we just found some brand NEW Starbucks Discovery Series Star Wars mugs focused on planets that you’ll only find in a galaxy far, far away.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most beloved Disney classic rides.
Now, it’s no secret that if you’ve been on Pirates of the Caribbean in both Disney World and Disneyland, you’ll understand that there are some differences. Most would even argue that the Disneyland version of the ride is far superior. Well, this ride does tend to be very popular in Disneyland, but if you’re planning on skipping the standby line this weekend for the Lightning Lane, we’ve got some bad news for you. Pirates of the Caribbean is not being offered on Lightning Lane Multi Pass right now.
Okay, Disneyland is knocking it OUT of the park with its Season of the Force, which celebrates all things Star Wars.
This year, Disney has dropped some pretty EPIC food from a galaxy far, far away, but we’ve also seen some pretty epic souvenirs, too. That includes the Death Star Popcorn Bucket (we seriously can’t get over it), as well as a brand new souvenir that we’re pretty sure is going to get more than a “luke warm” reception (deep dive Star Wars joke reference there). So, let’s take a look!
Throughout the year, Disneyland Resort hosts multiple Disneyland After Dark events, and they can be AWESOME if you’re a die-hard Disney fan.
These after hours, hard-ticketed offerings have different themes depending on the season. From Sweethearts’ Nite to Grad Nite to 90s Nite, we’ve seen all kinds of fun options. But one of the most popular choices the past few years? Star Wars Nite! And we got to check it out.
Are you headed to Disneyland in May?
It’s going to be a great time to visit the West Coast. You’ll have nice weather before things get too hot (maybe, depending on the weather’s mood), the 70th Anniversary Celebration (and we’re guessing some AMAZING 70th anniversary snacks) to look forward to, and all kinds of NEW and returning things to mark the occasion. So we’ve got all the major changes you’ll get to see if you’re visiting Disneyland in May 2025!
May the Force Be With You, DFB Friends!
It is officially Season of the Force in Disneyland, and we’ve been enjoying all kinds of special entertainment, activities, and — more importantly — food. Well, we’ve also now been to the first EVER Star Wars Nite of the year, and that means we also got to try out some food EXCLUSIVE to that party. So let’s chat about it!
Disneyland is almost ready to celebrate its 70th anniversary, and we can’t to experience all the offerings — new and returning!
To enhance this milestone anniversary — which will be celebrated May 16th, 2025 and wrap up in the summer of 2026 — Disneyland is introducing some new show and character experiences in addition to bringing back some fan-favorite experiences that have since left the resort over the years. Speaking of returning goodies, there are some now-defunct Disney snacks we hope make their return as part of the celebrations.
