News! Menu Changes at Beaches and Cream in Disney’s Beach Club Resort

One of our favorite places in Walt Disney World has changed up the menu a bit! It’s even sporting a new contrasting color scheme!

Beaches and Cream at Disney World’s Beach Club Resort has definitely added and subtracted from the menu from time to time over the past several years.

But this update includes a few big changes to the entrees section. (Don’t worry…the No Way Jose and your other favorite sundaes are still there!)

Eats Updates

Now, let’s check out what’s been changed and updated food-wise!

The Fountain Favorites are pretty much the same as before. Guests can still get their favorite flavored cokes here (cherry for me, please!) — and is the raspberry flavor new, Beaches fans?

But the Hot Off The Grill section has definitely seen some changes! From what I can see…this place is getting FAN-CY!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Trick-or-Treat Map, and Special Diets Treat Exchange

Halloween in Walt Disney World has pretty much already started! (September? Who needs September?)

New Menu: Grand Floridian’s Beach Pool Bar

Disney chefs worked behind the scenes on new menu items for the Grand Floridian Beach Pool Bar at the Grand Floridian, which recently re-opened! Courtesy of Chef Jack Butler, we have all the details!

After new recipes are developed, they are tested to see which menu items are most popular with guests. Testing took place at Gasparilla Grill before it closed for refurbishment this month.

The new menu at the Beach Pool Bar now replaces Gasparilla as the go-to counter-service location for Grand Floridian during renovations. As always during refurbs and menu updates, this is all subject to change.

New Menu Items

Watermelon, Feta, and Arugula Salad with Red Onion Vinaigrette

($7.19)
Chunks of watermelon, feta cheese crumbles, grape tomatoes, and shaved red onion on a base of arugula.

Grilled chicken Caesar salad ($8.39)
This is a holdover from Gasparilla. You can now sub out the chicken for grilled shrimp for an additional charge.

Crab Cake Sandwich ($9.99).
Served with a corn tartar sauce and cucumber salad. The cake itself is an un-breaded version of the Grand Floridian Cafe crab cake.

News! Dining Events at Citricos in Disney World’s Grand Floridian

Citricos at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian has announced several special dining events. This month’s Tables in Wonderland dinners include two Chef’s Domain dinners that will take place on September 18 and 19, 2012!

Citricos Chef’s Domain Welcomes B.R. Cohn Winery Sonoma

BR Cohn Winery is a medium-sized producer of some of Sonoma County’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. In the last few years, they’ve added a wide range of varietals. BR Cohn is also known for their olive oils. Doobie Brothers manager Bruce Cohn started his eponymous winery in 1984.

News! Be Our Guest Restaurant Menus and Food Photos!

For those who haven’t heard about this fun new spot yet, Be Our Guest Restaurant will (soft) open to great fanfare on November 19th in the New Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Enchanting diners with references to the “Beauty and the Beast” film, a rose motif and French atmosphere will be showcased throughout the restaurant.

Yesterday we reported on the Be Our Guest Restaurant beer and wine menu that will be offered during the dinner meal. The big news here is not that French wine will be uncorked inside the Beast’s Castle, it’s that alcohol will be served for the first time within the Magic Kingdom. Historically, Walt Disney had kept Disneyland a “dry” location with the exception of the private Club 33. The Magic Kingdom had followed this tradition.

But now that we’ve raised our glasses to toast Be Our Guest, it’s time to take a look at the food!

Be Our Guest Restaurant Dinner Menu

For dinner-time, the meal will be more elegant with table-service, French wine, and seating available in the West Wing and the Ballroom. The Be Our Guest dinner menu adds additional appetizer choices and more gourmet entrees.

For Starters, one of the dinner menu options is Mussels Provencal with White Wine, Tomato, Garlic, Onion, Basil, and Butter.

UPDATED With Wine and Beer Menus: News! Be Our Guest Restaurant to Serve Beer and Wine in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Interesting news coming out of the Magic Kingdom today about Be Our Guest Restaurant!

Sadly, I’m on vacation (yay!) and couldn’t be at the Be Our Guest Restaurant Media Event happening right now (boo!); but thanks to social media we’re getting great info to share with you!

Magic Kingdom Park No Longer “Dry”

According to several of our friends at the event, the big news is that Disney’s Magic Kingdom will now be serving alcohol for the first time ever.

Located in a *formerly* “dry” park where no alcohol was served (based on Walt’s wishes for Disneyland Park, where alcohol is only served at the private Club 33), Be Our Guest Restaurant will be serving alcoholic beer and wine for their guests.

According to Stuart McGuire, Beverage Director, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, “As part of the overall theming, we wanted to offer wine that enhances the guest experience and complements the French-inspired cuisine.”

Be Our Guest Restaurant and Gaston’s Tavern Trading Pins Coming Soon!

Since the start of the Disney pin trading in 1999, the release of new pins have often coincided with major openings at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

New Fantasyland Grand Opening Pin

With the highly anticipated grand opening of the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland on December 6 (previews on November 19th), including the Be Our Guest Restaurant and Gaston’s Tavern (hooray!!), Disney’s pin team has created new pins to collect!

A variety of pins will be available, including open and limited edition pins, boxed sets, multi-pin sets, and some pins designed especially for Annual Passholders. On opening day, several pins will be released to commemorate the special occasion, and we’re most excited for these ones…

Guest Review: Breakfast and Lunch at Flo’s V-8 Cafe in Disney California Adventure

Welcome back guest author Carrie Hayward with a review of breakfast and lunch at Flo’s V-8 Cafe in Cars Land, Disney California Adventure!

This Spring we got to attend an Annual Passholder preview of Cars Land. Everything was open, including new counter-service restaurant Flo’s V-8 Cafe.

We are usually pretty disappointed by the counter-service options at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland (Jolly Holiday Bakery excepted!), but we waited in the 20-minute line with our hopes high. Who wouldn’t want to eat in a life-size replica of the stylish drive-in from Cars?

News! LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s Tavern

We finally have some insight into the brew that will be served at Gaston’s Tavern when it opens in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland section later this year!

Approaching the tavern near the Be Our Guest restaurant, guests will find a huge statue of Gaston hoisting kegs of his favorite brew. Gaston’s Tavern will be a quick-service restaurant, resembling a comfy lodge in the French countryside. Of course, an enormous portrait of the egocentric Gaston will don an interior wall.
