We’re just weeks away from the launch of EPCOT’s 2026 International Festival of the Holidays, which begins on Black Friday, November 27th, and includes one of Disney World’s most beloved holiday traditions: The Candlelight Processional.
Christmas at Disney World!
This nightly offering is a longtime Disney tradition that got its start at Disneyland decades ago and has been a part of Disney World since the resort’s first Christmas season. It features celebrity narrators reading the Biblical Christmas story, joined by a 51-piece orchestra, the Voices of Liberty, and a choir of more than 150 Disney Cast Members and community singers. After a long, LONG 16-month refurbishment, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad finally reopened in Magic Kingdom earlier this year on May 3rd. However, it never felt fully reopened.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
When Big Thunder Mountain reopened in May, it featured a smoother track, new scenes, and a totally new feel. We loved the changes! That being said, there was one specific thing that the ride was missing, and you’ve probably heard us talk about it before. Well, now things are starting to feel more complete!
Every year, the same thing happens. The first whispers of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party start floating around, and group chats everywhere light up with heart-eyed emojis and talk of cookies, parades, and snow falling on Main Street. Then, you look at the ticket price, and that holiday cheer takes a nosedive faster than Dumbo in a wind tunnel.

Don’t get us wrong, the party is magical. But paying a premium price for a few hours after dark (on top of everything else a Disney World trip costs) just doesn’t fit into many budgets.
