Review and Tips: Breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
We hear it again and again (and we’ve said it ourselves): Cinderella’s Royal Table is a must at least once in your Disney World vacation life.
And most guests who’ve dined in this hard-to-book restaurant inside Cinderella Castle agree that you’re really not there for the food. But the ambiance! The princesses! The views! The whole dining experience (did we mention it’s inside the castle?!) is the draw, even if the food is… a little hit or miss.
And it’s that experience that keeps Cinderella’s Royal Table hopping — with Advance Dining Reservations (ADR) ideally being made right at the 180 day mark — 180 days before the first day of your vacation. (Learn more about making dining reservations at Disney restaurants here.)
If you do get an ADR, prepare to be dazzled by the decor and wooed by the energy in the restaurant. You definitely get the sense that you’re in a special space, and with princesses swooping in for a chat and wishing stars waving in the air, it’s a one of a kind meal.
UPDATED: News: Disney World’s Mobile Order System Expands to Contempo Cafe at Contemporary Resort
Editor’s Note: Contempo Cafe has been removed from Disney’s system as a mobile order option. That said, since they went to the trouble to load all of the code into their system, we’re guessing it will be an option soon. Stay tuned.
Mobile Order — a process available via the My Disney Experience app, which gives guests the chance to bypass the register lines in participating restaurants by ordering and paying for their food in advance, has been available in select Counter Service spots since May 2017. The service has been limited, however, to locations in all four parks and Disney Springs.
But this weekend, the service made its debut in a Disney World Resort: The Contemporary Resort’s Contempo Cafe!
News: Splitsville Opens January 29 in Disneyland!
It’s almost time for Disneylanders to Let the Good Times Roll in the Downtown Disney District when Splitsville Luxury Lanes opens on January 29th!
Similar to the Splitsville in Disney Springs, the bowling and dining spot will serve classic bowling alley eats alongside not-your-typical bowling fare. So while you’ll find things like good ol’ burgers and fries and Macho Nachos on the menu…
A Tribute to Chef Paul Bocuse
Chef Paul Bocuse — one of the most celebrated Chefs of all time — passed away on January 20, 2018, at the age of 91. Chef Paul’s passing is certainly a loss to the culinary world, but to many Disney and Epcot fans as well.
His accolades were many and varied: among them, Chef Paul was one of a group of chefs who pioneered modern French cooking and “nouvelle cuisine” in the 1960s and 70s. This weekend, French President Emmanual Macron paid tribute to the owner of the three Michelin star restaurant L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges, describing him as the “incarnation of French cuisine.”
In the early 80s, Chef Bocuse was invited by the Walt Disney Company to create restaurants for the France Pavilion in EPCOT Center. The result was Les Chefs de France, which now runs under his son, Jérôme.
