We’ve seen a lot of Disney World president Josh D’Amaro over the past few weeks as he’s sent us some friendly messaging during the Disney World closure.

Now, Josh D’Amaro is no longer leading Disney World. In a press release today, Disney announced its new leadership team, including D’Amaro moving into the position of Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products — the role previously held by the current CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek.
There are LOTS of interesting and exciting developments across the Walt Disney Company! We are starting to see the gradual reopening process begin around the globe, and the news just doesn’t stop these days!

So, let’s get caught up on all things Disney Parks and entertainment!
Back in March, the Walt Disney Company took out an additional $6 billion dollars in debt to protect its financial future.

And according to Deadline.com, Disney has just taken out more loans totaling $11 billion dollars.
Today, Shanghai Disneyland became the first Disney theme park to reopen following the recent closures.

In reaction to the opening day, CNBC conducted an interview with Bob Chapek, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company. In the interview, Chapek commented on pent-up demand for the theme parks, the role of guests in keeping everyone safe, and some of the ways the global health crisis has had an effect on the company.
Earlier this week, we reported that Shanghai Disneyland is prepping to open March 11th. The resort has already implemented new health screening protocols for guests as they slowly re-opened limited shopping, dining, and recreational experiences.

Shanghai Disneyland will be officially re-opening May 11th and we finally know some of the safety measures Disney parks will be implementing when they re-open.
