Did you hear that? There are practically shouts of joy rising from Adventureland in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom… because the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are BACK!!!
These beloved rolls arrived as an under-the-radar test item at the Adventureland Egg Roll Cart a few years ago and gained a bit of a cult following. But one day — POOF! — they disappeared, much to our chagrin. But — for now, anyway! — they’re back! [Read more…]

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ MICKEY WAFFLE?!
Most of us like-minded Disney food fans sure do. But the thing is, without an Advance Dining Reservation for a Table Service restaurant, it can be hard to find them inside the parks at Counter Service locations, even though they’re a staple in the Resort food courts. Last year, you could find Mickey Waffles at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor when they served a breakfast menu, but that only lasted a very short while.
Fortunately, now they have a new home in Magic Kingdom: Sleepy Hollow Refreshments! A fitting spot, since Sleepy Hollow is home to the popular Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich and the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Nutella.
In fact, Sleepy Hollow has offered waffles topped with your choice of powdered sugar or strawberries and whipped cream for ages. But, while pleasant, they sure weren’t MICKEY-SHAPED.
But NOW…
YES — it’s a JUMBO Mickey Waffle!! Clearly, we ordered up the Mickey Waffle with Strawberries and Whipped Cream (for $6.79 or a snack credit (!!!!) on the Disney Dining Plan).

WHOA!!! Do I ever owe DFB Reader Lauren F. a HUGE thank you!
She informed us of some VERY good news… she JUST got a Pineapple and Vanilla Dole Whip SWIRL from Aloha Isle!!!
You may recall when Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace switched locations in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland well over two years ago. But the locations weren’t the only thing that changed at the time: there was a change to the Aloha Isle menu, too. The option to swirl your Pineapple Dole Whip with Orange (or order Orange on its own) was removed from the menu.
In fact, the only flavor on the menu at all was simply Pineapple. And even though Pineapple Dole Whip — often referred to as Pineapple Soft Serve — has been popping up in various locations around Disney World (like the latest beverages at All Star Resort bars, for instance), the only place you have been able to swirl flavors since the location change was the Polynesian’s Pineapple Lanai.
We happily confirmed Lauren’s findings with a visit to the Disney World’s website where Vanilla does, indeed, appear on the Aloha Isle menu! [Read more…]

A lot of Disney stories start with “Once Upon a Time…”
And here’s one more for you. Once Upon a Time, Disney Food Fans could count on a couple of SUPER yummy pretzels at a few snack stands around Disney World. These were the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel and the Jalapeño-Cheese Pretzel; and you could typically find at least one of them at spots like Epcot’s Fife & Drum Tavern, Animal Kingdom’s Eight Spoon Cafe (when it was known as the Beastly Kiosk), and Magic Kingdom’s Lunching Pad.
Then, one by one and spot by spot, they began to disappear until they were (nearly) all gone.
So you can understand how excited we were when the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel returned to The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland last October! Likewise, you may be able to guess how happy we are to tell you that the Jalapeno-Cheese Pretzel is BACK at The Lunching Pad, too!
We’re certain that — like the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel — this spicy, savory, cheesy goody will taste every bit as good as always. (You see, we don’t get to make it to Typhoon Lagoon Water Park as often as we’d like, and Lowtide Lou’s is the only place that carries it regularly these days).

We’re gonna go waaaay back today… all the way to 2013 😉 .
That’s the year that Hand-Dipped Corn Dogs arrived — at long last — in Disney World, thanks to the Fantasy Fare Disney Food Truck.
Of course, Disneylanders have a long history with Hand-Dipped Corn Dogs. The Little Red Wagon and Stage Door Cafe in Disneyland Park and Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure long ago elevated the standard theme park/carnival/state fair corn dog to a work of art. An extra-thick layer of corn batter surrounds the hot dog, while the hand-dipped treatment lends a heartier, tastier, more satisfying crunch to the deep-fried golden batter.
Even with that description, it’s still hard to imagine how much this process improves upon your basic corn dog without trying one for yourself.
And now, there is one more spot in Disney World where you can do exactly that. Better yet, it’s in a PARK this time! Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom is now serving Hand-Dipped Corn Dogs!! [Read more…]
