The restaurant replaced The Wave that used to be in the hotel’s lobby, and the 71 refers to the opening year of Disney World (and the Contemporary). If you’ve been keeping up with us, you know that we’ve really enjoyed the food at this new spot — we’ve tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and had positive experiences overall. After more than four years of development, the immersive space restaurant officially opened yesterday, serving a prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner. We’ve been waiting for this EPCOT restaurant for YEARS and we finally got to go inside and have a meal! We traveled up that space elevator, into the dining area, and saw that beautiful view of the Earth and the stars for the first time. We also noticed some cool details floating around.
