It’s now been a little over a month since Disney World re-opened, and we’ve seen some major changes at all four theme parks!

On top of the parks seeing some big differences, the transportation around the property has been re-vamped to add more distancing, sanitation, and safety measures on board. And now, there are reports of some more changes that have happened with Disney’s transportation.
Earlier this month, Virgin Atlantic announced they would be resuming international flights with service from London’s Heathrow Airport to Orlando, Florida.

However, the airline has just postponed its UK flights to the US by over a month.
With reopened locations like Universal and SeaWorld and the fact that Disney World will be reopening next month, Orlando International Airport is gearing up to receive travelers.

If you’re planning on flying to down to Florida soon, we want to provide you with a list of the MCO’s businesses that are currently open just in case you need to grab a newspaper, souvenir, cup of coffee, or a quick bite!
Since Disney World is reopening on July 11th and other theme parks in Florida are also getting back to business, tourist travel may start to increase at places like Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Between the Re-Open Florida Task Force discussing ways to keep people safe and the possible $25 billion airline rescue package, airports are working towards preparing for more passengers to make their way back into planes.
Though Walt Disney World and Disney parks around the globe remain closed until further notice in light of the current global situation, meetings continue this week for the Re-Open Florida Task Force. The task force — which Governor Ron DeSantis appointed as the state looks to reopen its economy in light of new federal guidelines which were revealed last week — includes Josh D’Amaro, Walt Disney World President, among its Executive Committee members.

The task force is examining several aspects of business in the state divided into various Industry Working Groups discussing everything from education and business administration to agriculture and beyond. And a subcommittee focused on Florida’s tourism industry includes the state’s theme parks, restaurants, hotels, cruise ship ports, and more. [Read more…]
